deliverance of God’s people from their foes can
only be followed by the coming of the Lord Jesus
and the destruction of their enemies. God is so
slow to pour out His wrath upon those who have
rejected Him, that He seems almost to have
deserted His people. But God will “avenge His
own elect, which cry day and night unto Him,
though He bear long with them.”
“But when ye shall hear of wars and
commotions, be not terrified; for these things must
first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.
Then said He unto them, Nation shall rise against
nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and great
