coming of <strong>the</strong> Lord. This is <strong>the</strong> time above all<br />

o<strong>the</strong>rs, just before <strong>the</strong> coming of <strong>the</strong> Lord, when<br />

we are not to faint. “And he spake a parable unto<br />

<strong>the</strong>m, to this end, that men ought always to pray<br />

and not to faint; saying, There was in a city a<br />

judge, which feared not God, nei<strong>the</strong>r regarded man.<br />

And <strong>the</strong>re was a widow in that city; and she came<br />

unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary [or<br />

opponent]. And he would not for a while; but<br />

afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not<br />

God nor regard man, yet because this widow<br />

troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her<br />

continual coming she weary me.” To get rid of her<br />

he would vindicate her of her opponent at law.<br />

“And shall not God avenge His own elect, which<br />

cry day and night unto Him, though He bear long<br />

with <strong>the</strong>m? I tell you that He will avenge <strong>the</strong>m<br />

speedily.”<br />

Distressing Times Ahead<br />

We are in <strong>the</strong> time of trouble foretold in God’s<br />

word. These distressing times we see about us are<br />

but <strong>the</strong> beginning of <strong>the</strong>se things. “This know also,<br />
