JT ANNOUNCES NEW CHAIRMAN<br />

JT Group has announced that one of the UK’s leading<br />

technologists, Phil Male, has succeeded John Stares<br />

as its Chair. Guernsey-based John stood down after<br />

completing 10 years on the Group Board, the last five of<br />

which were as Chair.<br />

UK-based Phil has been a Non-Executive Director<br />

of JT since 2011, and previously chaired the Group’s<br />

nomination committee, as well as sitting on its audit and<br />

remuneration committees. He has been at the forefront<br />

of the technology, media, and telecommunications<br />

sector for almost 30 years, founded two successful<br />

start-ups, completed two listings on the London Stock<br />

Exchange, and held executive roles at some of the<br />

sector’s leading firms.<br />

Graeme Millar, Chief Executive Officer of JT, said: 'Phil<br />

becomes Chairman at an exciting time for JT, as we<br />

deliver on our promise to be ‘always on, always there<br />

and always enabling.’ We now have a clear structure in<br />

place to develop both locally and internationally, bringing<br />

THREE NEW PARTNERS<br />

IN GUERNSEY<br />

Offshore law firm Appleby has<br />

welcomed Andrew Harding and<br />

Richard Field as Partners in the<br />

Group’s Guernsey office, further<br />

strengthening their Corporate and<br />

Dispute Resolution teams.<br />

In addition, Richard Sheldon, Head<br />

of Employment – Channel Islands,<br />

has been promoted to Partner<br />

within the Dispute Resolution team.<br />

Wendy Benjamin, who has been<br />

appointed as Office Managing<br />

Partner of Appleby's Jersey office<br />

and who also continues in her<br />

role as Managing Partner for the<br />

Guernsey office, said: 'We are<br />

which enhances Appleby's position in the offshore legal<br />

industry and in Guernsey.'<br />

BDO MAKES SEVEN PROMOTIONS<br />

BDO Limited has further strengthened its audit offering<br />

with the promotion of seven employees to the position of<br />

Audit Supervisor.<br />

Krista De La Mare, Samantha Gervaise-Brazier, Natalie<br />

Dodd, Trymore Masasi, Kudzai Bandama, Malwande<br />

Sondaba and Tinotenda Munengwa, all previously<br />

Audit Seniors with the firm, were promoted in May. The<br />

accountancy and business advisory firm has made the<br />

promotions as part of its continued growth.<br />

Managing Director Richard Searle said ‘Each of these<br />

promotions is so well deserved and I wish all of those<br />

shaping and developing<br />

the GET mission<br />

and service since it<br />

became a charity.<br />

Alison O’Neill has been<br />

promoted to the role of<br />

Supported Employment<br />

Manager overseeing a<br />

team of Employment<br />

Support Officers. Claire<br />

Nightingale has joined<br />

the team as Employment<br />

Development Manager,<br />

to focus on building<br />

relationships and<br />

opportunities with<br />

employers on the<br />

island. Claire has a<br />

20-year career in<br />

marketing branded and<br />

consumer goods.<br />

Diana Brook has recently<br />

joined GET as the Job<br />

Club Leader. She will<br />

be developing the Job<br />

Club service to appeal<br />

to a wider audience.<br />

NEW BRANCH MANAGER AT WAITROSE<br />

Waitrose Partner Kevin Stone has been promoted to<br />

Branch Manager at the Guernsey Rohais shop. Kevin<br />

brings 32 years’ experience at Waitrose having begun his<br />

retail career as a Warehouse Partner in the UK Dorchester<br />

branch. Since then he has held many managerial<br />

positions, working in 10 different branches before moving<br />

to Guernsey in April 2016 to work in the Rohais shop.<br />

'I am looking forward to taking on this challenging new<br />

role and continuing to work closely with our Partners.<br />

This role will give me the opportunity to help further<br />

enhance the great service Waitrose is well known for and<br />

ensure we are showcasing our latest ranges’; he said.<br />
