Don’t fancy afternoon tea in the afternoon, well the Evening Tea at the<br />

Midland Hotel is the perfect solution. Served between 5.30-7pm, it’s<br />

just like having a four-course meal, in the hotel’s elegant, light and airy<br />

tea room with high ceilings and period features. Delicious sandwiches<br />

are served with unique fillings such as chicken, mango and coriander,<br />

followed by a warm savoury course of cured Royal salmon with gin<br />

and apple chutney, an ox cheek and blue cheese croquette, and a<br />

firm favourite – buttermilk fried chicken with Sriracha sauce. All of<br />

this goes alongside the welcome addition of plain and raisin scones,<br />

with clotted cream and a selection of Mrs Darlington’s jams. To finish,<br />

dive into the array of decadent desserts, including elderflower and<br />

gooseberry tart gateaux and a salted caramel and dark chocolate tart.<br />

your own sandwiches, cakes,<br />

scones and any of the 60 loose<br />

leaf teas (but only one coffee).<br />
