Ogier has enjoyed a remarkable run of awards and industry recognition in the past<br />
12 months that spans the firm’s service lines and international jurisdictions.<br />
Ogier’s Guernsey team has been recognised<br />
in each of the six most recent major<br />
successes, having played a key part in the<br />
firm’s growing and evolving success story.<br />
INTERNATIONAL LAW FIRM INNOVATION –<br />
LEGAL WEEK INNOVATION AWARDS 2018<br />
Ogier won the international category at Legal<br />
Week’s Innovation Awards 2018 in June. The award<br />
recognised the launch and implementation of a<br />
firm-wide programme focused on innovation,<br />
efficiency and consistency. Managing associate<br />
Oliver Quarmby – from Ogier’s Guernsey<br />
investment funds team – was part of the Ogier<br />
contingent who collected the award.<br />
HIGH YIELD DEAL OF THE YEAR –<br />
IFLR EUROPE AWARDS 2018<br />
A deal on which Guernsey partner Christopher Jones<br />
advised - AnaCap Financial Europe - was named<br />
High Yield Deal of the Year at IFLR’s Europe Awards in<br />
April, completing an international hat-trick for Ogier<br />
after wins at IFLR’s Asia and Middle East Awards.<br />
IFLR 1000 FIRM TO WATCH<br />
Ogier is one of only 31 law firms worldwide to<br />
be named in IFLR 1000’s Firms to Watch – an<br />
exclusive list of the top financial law firms making<br />
headlines for breaking into new markets, expansion,<br />
increased market share and innovation. The list<br />
recognises Guernsey Practice Partner Marcus<br />
Leese as a “market leader” with his colleagues,<br />
partners Christopher Jones and Bryon Rees,<br />
“highly regarded” and managing associate<br />
Andrew Munro recognised as a “rising star”.<br />
OFFSHORE LAW FIRM OF THE YEAR –<br />
CHAMBERS EUROPE AWARDS 2018<br />
Ogier was named Best Offshore Law Firm by leading<br />
independent legal directory Chambers Europe in<br />
April. It’s the second time in the past three years that<br />
Ogier – the only law firm with offices in Guernsey,<br />
Jersey and Luxembourg – has been recognised<br />
with this prestigious award. Partner Fabien Debroise<br />
(Luxembourg) and senior associate Diana Collas<br />
(Guernsey) attended the ceremony in Madrid.<br />
HAT-TRICK OF AWARDS –<br />
CITYWEALTH IFC AWARDS 2018<br />
Ogier won a hat-trick of awards at the Citywealth<br />
IFC Awards in January, retaining best law firm in the<br />
Caribbean and Jersey, and adding a silver in Guernsey.<br />
The head of the Guernsey trusts team, partner Gavin<br />
Ferguson, collected the awards on the night.<br />
INTERNATIONAL LEGAL TEAM OF THE YEAR –<br />
STEP PRIVATE CLIENT AWARDS 2017/18<br />
For the second time in three years, Ogier was<br />
named International Legal Team of the Year at the<br />
prestigious STEP Private Client Awards, which are<br />
renowned for their rigorous, practitioner-led judging<br />
process. The Ogier delegation included partner<br />
Marcus Leese and managing associate Paul Chanter.<br />
