In adults with HIV on ART who have diarrhea not caused by an infection
Tired of planning your life around diarrhea?
Enough is Enough
Get relief. Pure and simple. Ask your doctor about Mytesi.
Mytesi (crofelemer):
• Is the only medicine FDA-approved to relieve diarrhea in people with HIV
• Treats diarrhea differently by normalizing the flow of water in the GI tract
• Has the same or fewer side effects as placebo in clinical studies
• Comes from a tree sustainably harvested in the Amazon Rainforest
What is Mytesi?
Mytesi is a prescription medicine that helps relieve symptoms of diarrhea not caused by an
infection (noninfectious) in adults living with HIV/AIDS on antiretroviral therapy (ART).
Important Safety Information
Mytesi is not approved to treat infectious diarrhea (diarrhea caused by bacteria, a virus,
or a parasite). Before starting you on Mytesi, your healthcare provider will first be sure that
you do not have infectious diarrhea. Otherwise, there is a risk you would not receive the
right medicine and your infection could get worse. In clinical studies, the most common
side effects that occurred more often than with placebo were upper respiratory tract
(sinus, nose, and throat) infection (5.7%), bronchitis (3.9%), cough (3.5%), flatulence
(3.1%), and increased bilirubin (3.1%).
RELIEF, PURE AND SIMPLE

IMPORTANT PATIENT INFORMATION
This is only a summary. See complete
Prescribing Information at Mytesi.com or by
calling 1-844-722-8256. This does not take
the place of talking with your doctor about
your medical condition or treatment.
What Is Mytesi (crofelemer)?
Mytesi is a prescription medicine used to
improve symptoms of noninfectious diarrhea
(diarrhea not caused by a bacterial, viral,
or parasitic infection) in adults living with
HIV/AIDS on ART.
Do Not Take Mytesi if you have diarrhea
caused by an infection. Before you start
Mytesi, your doctor and you should make sure
your diarrhea is not caused by an infection
(such as bacteria, virus, or parasite).
Possible Side Effects of Mytesi Include:
• Upper respiratory tract infection (sinus, nose,
and throat infection)
• Bronchitis (swelling in the tubes that carry air
to and from your lungs)
• Cough
• Flatulence (gas)
• Increased bilirubin (a waste product when
red blood cells break down)
For a full list of side effects, please talk to your
doctor. Tell your doctor if you have any side
effect that bothers you or does not go away.
You are encouraged to report negative
side effects of prescription drugs to the
FDA. Visit www.fda.gov/medwatch or
call 1-800-FDA-1088.
Should I Take Mytesi If I Am:
Pregnant or Planning to Become Pregnant?
• Studies in animals show that Mytesi could
harm an unborn baby or affect the ability to
become pregnant
• There are no studies in pregnant women
taking Mytesi
• This drug should only be used during
pregnancy if clearly needed
A Nursing Mother?
• It is not known whether Mytesi is passed
through human breast milk
• If you are nursing, you should tell your doctor
before starting Mytesi
• Your doctor will help you to decide whether
to stop nursing or to stop taking Mytesi
Under 18 or Over 65 Years of Age?
• Mytesi has not been studied in children
under 18 years of age
• Mytesi studies did not include many people
over the age of 65. So it is not clear if this
age group will respond differently. Talk to
your doctor to fi nd out if Mytesi is right
for you
What Should I Know About Taking Mytesi
With Other Medicines?
If you are taking any prescription or over-thecounter
MUSCLEQUEEN,
Shequida, top
New York nightlife
queen, is bringing
a full production
extravaganza to The
Pines. One of the
most sought-after
queens, Shequida is
recognized for her
full, all-out, super
productions, and it
appears she’s done it
again.
Shequida:
MUSCLEQUEEN
Shequida, tell us about
your new show.
Gurl, I am so freaking
excited. MUSCLEQUEEN will
be the first full-production
group drag show on The
Pines in like, forever. People
tend to think the only good
drag shows are on Cherry
Grove. Not any more, henny.
This season I’ll be bringing
the glamour, comedy and
production value that I am
known for.
When will you be
doing this at The
Pines?
MUSCLEQUEEN
will be every
Friday night at the
Pavillion. Seating
begins at 10 and
the show at 11.
Since there are no
reserved seats,
it’s best to
get there
early to
get a
good
spot.
Your
shows
are
usually big
productions.
What can the
audience expect?
Expect to laugh,
cheer and gag, kids.
Every week, the cast
and myself will give
you a different themed
show. Some of the
upcoming themes are
Divas Live, Hollywood
on the Pines: A Tribute
to Movies, Sex (do I
really need to explain that
one?) and many more. The
theme for the opening-night
show on June 29 will be
Broadway...On a Budget. Let
the hilarity begin.
Aside from your new show,
what have you been up to?
After having auditioned
for “Drag Race” 13 times
and not getting chosen, I
have been drinking. (Do
the math. There have only
been 10 season. LOL.) I am
at my long-running weekly
Thursday show at Hardware
bar and hosting Drag Wars
Mondays at Pieces. And
of course performing and
MCing the extremely popular
and crazy Voss Events Drag
Brunch Sundays at the
Highline Ballroom.
If you could be asked any
question in the world, what
would you want me to ask
you, and how would you
answer it?
Oh, you could ask me how
how it feels to always be
called RuPoor. Answer?
FUCKING FANTASTIC. I have
low self esteem and an even
lower booking fee.
Any new projects on the
horizon?
Yes. My next project is
figuring out how to get
Bianca Del Rio’s number to
see if she could like lend
me like 20 bucks. If anyone
reading this knows it hit me
up.
BY TYLER SEECOF
While my friends and I enjoyed a
beautiful vacation laying back in Puerto
Rico’s blue waters, sipping on mojitos
and devouring Mofongo, we couldn’t
help but notice the lingering effects of
Hurricane Maria. Buildings are still being
renovated, stores are permanently closed,
and tourism is minimal. However, I’m
most unsettled by the recent statistics
revealing that the death rate from Maria is
approximately 1.5 times more than 9/11,
and the suicide rate has also increased.
Some estimate that nearly 40% of suicides
are attempted or committed by elderly
LGBT community members.
During my time in Puerto Rico, I first
noticed struggle in the LGBT community
at the bars. Circo, a popular gay bar
known for its multi-level dance floors,
severely lacked patrons. According to
locals, many LGBT people moved to
New York and Miami due to the storm.
Although they’re slowly returning, these
bars have taken a hit—both figuratively
and literally. While running on generators,
Circo—located in a very LGBT friendly part
of the territory—was bombed. This hate
crime hints to the homophobia in Puerto
Rico, which is most apparent in rural
areas. Unfortunately, these rural areas also
happen to be where people struggle the
most to recover from Hurricane Maria.
As important as the gay nightlife is to
our community’s visibility, there’s a larger
problem afloat. In these rural areas, many
LGBT people simultaneously fight against
bias and for survival on a daily basis. While
LGBT people are learning to navigate
discrimination, they must also go about
their daily lives without power, food, and
even homes in some cases. Yet, relief is
scarce.
This Pride, please remember our history.
The LGBT community has been ignored
by our government during a fatal crisis
before—referring to the AIDS epidemic.
Let’s not watch as our brothers and sisters
in Puerto Rico get left stranded.
After my trip, I linked with WAVES
AHEAD, a local organization that
TAKE PRIDE
BY STORM BY
Helping Puerto
Rico’s LGBT
expanded its mission from helping elderly
LGBT people to full throttle hurricane relief
for all marginalized households. WAVES
AHEAD offers home support, including
therapy, goods, and even home rebuilds
and renovations. Here’s how they say we
can help:
· Visit Puerto Rico. Tourism is a major
cash flow for the territory. Stay at the
beautiful hotels, spend money at local
shops, and help rebuild their economy.
· Volunteer your time. Many
organizations are still looking for
volunteers to help rebuild. If you don’t
want to spend your entire vacation
volunteering, consider spending a few
days relaxing and a few days volunteering.
· Donate money and/or goods.
Organizations like WAVES AHEAD are
working tirelessly to get resources to
people in need and anything you can
donate will make a difference.
Through devastation, Puerto Ricans
stand tall and show their resilience. I am
enamored by their pride and strength,
and as we celebrate Pride Month, I won’t
forget those in need. I hope the same will
go for you.
YOU WERE INTRODUCED
TO MUSIC AT AN EARLY
AGE. DO YOU FEEL LIKE
MUSIC MIGHT NOT HAVE
BEEN A CHOICE, BUT
INSTEAD A DESTINY?
I’M NOT SURE IF I’D
DESCRIBE IT AS DESTINY
PER SE, BUT MUSIC WAS
DEFINITELY A NATURAL
PROGRESSION FOR ME,
ESPECIALLY FROM THE
MOMENT I STARTED
WRITING SONGS AROUND
13.
WAS THERE A POINT IN
TIME THAT YOU COULD
SAY THE TRAJECTORY OF
YOUR LIFE WAS CHANGED
IN A MOMENT?
FOR SURE, MANY. ONE
MAJOR ONE WAS WHEN
I DECIDED TO MOVE TO
NEW YORK CITY. I HAD NO
IDEA WHAT WAS COMING
AND HOW MUCH IT WOULD
AFFECT ME AS A PERSON
AND MY MUSIC.
IF YOU COULD HAVE YOUR
ULTIMATE STAGE FANTASY,
WHAT WOULD HAVE TO
HAPPEN?
PERHAPS…TO PLAY AN
ENTIRE SET FRONT TO
BACK WHERE THE ENERGY
OF THE CROWD IS SO LOUD
THAT MY VOICE BECOMES
IRRELEVANT. THAT AND
DANCING LOBSTERS.
DO YOU BELIEVE THAT
MUSIC CAN CHANGE THE
WORLD, AND IF SO, WHICH
ONE OF YOUR SONGS
WOULD YOU USE TO DO
IT?
I THINK MUSIC CAN
CHANGE THE MINDSET
OF PEOPLE, WHICH, IN
TURN, CAN CAUSE VARYING
DEGREES OF CHANGE IN
THE WORLD FOR SURE. I
DON’T THINK OF USING
ANY ONE OF MY SONGS IN
PARTICULAR I GUESS, BUT I
HOPE THAT KIND OF THING
NATURALLY HAPPENS
THROUGHOUT MY CAREER.
YOU’RE ABOUT
TO TOUR WITH
ED SHEERAN.
YOU HAVE
TOURED WITH
HIM IN THE
PAST. WHAT
WAS THAT
LIKE?
YES, I WENT
ON TOUR WITH
HIM IN ASIA
LAST YEAR.
THAT WAS
ABSOLUTELY
INSANE. IT WAS
MY FIRST TIME
PLAYING IN
ARENAS AND
MY FIRST TIME
IN ASIA EVER.
NOT ONLY IS
HE ONE OF
THE MOST
DOWN-TO-
EARTH PEOPLE
I KNOW, BUT
HIS FANS ARE
INCREDIBLE,
AND I WAS
SURPRISED BY
HOW MANY FANS I HAD
SHOWING UP AS WELL.
THIS FALL I GET TO OPEN
FOR HIM IN STADIUMS IN
THE U.S. IT’S GOING TO BE
A WHOLE OTHER LEVEL. I
CAN’T WAIT.
DO YOU HAVE A MUSICAL
IDOL?
I’M NOT SURE I
PARTICULARLY IDOLIZE
ANY MUSICIANS, BUT
I’M A LONGTIME FAN OF
ARTISTS LIKE JOHN MAYER,
COLDPLAY, PAUL SIMON.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE
SONG, ONE THAT YOU
REALLY LIKE TO DO LIVE
OR ARE REALLY PROUD
OF?
I CAN’T PICK FAVORITES,
BUT ONE OF MY FAVORITES
TO PLAY LIVE IS “BREATHE,”
JUST BECAUSE I GET TO
STRIP IT ALL THE WAY
DOWN TO KEYS, AND
IT’S USUALLY THE MOST
INTIMATE PART OF THE
SHOW.
WHO WERE YOUR
MUSICAL INFLUENCES
GROWING UP?
OH MAN, TOO MANY:
JOHN MAYER, COLDPLAY,
TAKING BACK SUNDAY,
HELLOGOODBYE, ADAM
YOUNG, JOE PASS.
WHERE ARE YOU HOPING
TO BE MUSICALLY IN FIVE
YEARS?
IN A PLACE I COULDN’T
POSSIBLY IMAGINE RIGHT
NOW.
ANYTHING NEW ON THE
HORIZON FOR YOU?
I JUST PUT OUT THE LAST
FEW SONGS OFF MY DEBUT
PLAYLIST PROJECT, “I MET
YOU WHEN I WAS 18.” I’M
PLAYING ALL SORTS OF
FESTIVALS ALL SUMMER
LONG. I JUST ANNOUNCED
MY FALL TOUR DATES
ALONG WITH THE ED
SHEERAN DATES, AND
WRITING NEW MUSIC OF
COURSE.

You Can’t Afford No Ring
Last week, Nathan Ayon
invited me to his private
studio to get a sneak peek
at his new collection of
swimwear.
Between nights at the
Grace Hotel and trips to
Fire Island, I NEEDED new
swimsuits. Nathan Ayon
splayed his newest suits
on a table for me: It was
a dizzying array of colors,
sparkles and hardware. “I
have some special ones
to show you,” he winked,
digging into a leather
satchel at his side.
There are two ways to win
me over: mesh and lace.
Since his last collection had
mesh backs (and I’d already
bought them), he brought
out the lace. “Try one on,”
he insisted, pouring me a
glass of prosecco.
white suits, floral crown
arrangements on men and
New York wedding venues.
I’m ashamed to admit
I’ve pictured it a million
times: me, in a white lace
Valentino shirt and white
suit with a matching lace
pinstripe down the pant
leg, lavender-dyed flowers
in my hand. I was engaged
at 19 and nearly married at
21, and now, 7 years later,
I can’t seem to shake the
image of me walking down
the aisle.
And there in Nathan Ayon’s
studio, standing in front
of a full-length mirror in a
barely-there lace speedo,
I imagined myself wearing
it on my honeymoon, on
some quiet Hawaii beach
or in the personal hot tub
back at the hotel suite.
I certainly wasn’t into
marriage when I was
younger: I renounced love
at age 14, thinking that I
was above the mere idea
of it. (That’s the same age
I read Romeo & Juliet, and
let’s be honest, they were
dumbasses.) All I know
is something in me has
changed, and I can’t stop
thinking about it.
When I got home, my
boyfriend was watching
Netflix on my computer.
“Get anything good?” he
asked, smiling.
“A few things,” I nodded,
reminding myself to clear
my browser history.
I gravitated toward one,
sliding it on. It was pure
lace in the back, my ass
crack showing down
the middle, the front
concealing my dick with
a thin layer of material
between my skin and the
lace. I picked it because it
was pure white.
“That is SEX,” he said,
pouring a second glass for
himself.
It was—but that wasn’t why
I picked it. We all know
by now that I have an ex
fiancé; what we may or
may not know is that, every
now and then, I become
marriage-obsessed.
Like, really obsessed. My
browser history becomes
overpowered with searches
of lace shirts and crisp
I knew I was being fullon
crazy. And, with
that knowledge,
I bought three
swimsuits—
including the
white one, which
I decided to
store in the
back of my
closet.
Why am I like
this? I asked
myself, opting
to walk home
in the summer
heat and clear
my head. I
didn’t feel any
clearer: just
sticky and tired.
What is it about
marriage that I’m
so obsessed with?
How did you guys come
together on “Gravity”?
Zach Adam: Adam and I
have been collaborating
for years as songwriters.
Adam Joseph: We started
writing together when
I was still living in NYC.
We’ve had songs recorded
by other artists. “Gravity”
was the first to come
along that was right for
me to sing.
What is the song about?
Adam Joseph: At first,
it was written as a love/
break-up song.
Zach Adam: I was fresh
out of a relationship,
and Adam and I were
going over the idea of
love being like a force of
nature.
But, somehow, the song
took on a whole
new meaning…
Adam Joseph:
After listening
back to the first
recordings, a new
feeling began to
emerge. It became
about overcoming
addiction and the
yearning to break
free from someone
or something.
How have the
issues of addiction
and depression
impacted your
lives?
Zach Adam: As
an artist, I feel
things deeply.
I think I can
speak for both of us
when I say we’ve had
experience dealing
with suicide in our
lives, both personally
and with people we
love.
Adam Joseph: I went
through a serious
battle with addiction
and depression. It took
me many years to work
through the worst of it,
and I still am fighting
with it today. As with
most of life’s biggest
problems, I don’t think
it’s something that I
will ever completely
get over, but music has
always been a major force
in keeping me moving
forward.
Is that what you hope
“Gravity” does for
listeners?
Adam Joseph: I hope
“Gravity” raises awareness
and gives comfort to
those who need to hear it
most.
Zach Adam: I hope the
song takes away some of
the stigma of depression
and suicide. No one
should be afraid to admit
they need help. When it’s
out of the dark, change
might happen.
What should fans know
about Zach Adam?
Adam Joseph: He does
it all. He’s a songwriter,
producer, instrumentalist,
singer, photographer,
music video producer.
He kind of reminds me of
myself, except way better
than me at everything.
What should fans know
about Adam Joseph?
Zach Adam: Adam is
way too humble. He’s the
true musical prodigy. Have
you heard his viral smash,
“Linda Evangelista,”
featuring Aja from
“RuPaul’s Drag Race”?
It’s amazing. Also, Adam’s
voice is golden, and it
really shines on “Gravity.”

All of the backup vocals
were recorded by him, and
you can hear how expert
he is at recording big
choirs and sophisticated
harmonies. In the studio,
he and I would listen to
the big choir “oooooh”
part on loop because we
liked it so much.
Adam Joseph: Can I
add one thing for anyone
out there who doesn’t
already know? Zach’s
an Instagram thirst trap.
Check out his page @
zachadammusic. While we
were shooting the music
video for “Gravity,” he
gave me some pointers on
how to up my Instagram
game.
How long did it take
you to shoot the
powerful music video for
“Gravity”?
Zach Adam: We shot it
in two days. Adam flew in
to NYC from Los Angeles,
and we got right to work!
Who developed the
intricate plot for the
music video?
Adam Joseph: I
presented the concept
of “unsuccessful suicide
attempts” as a metaphor
for trying to
repress
emotions or
kill feelings
instead of
reaching out
for a lost love
that you are
better off
living without.
The concept
of moving
on was also
a part of
transitioning
into another
place or
plane, which
also shared a
parallel with
the idea of life
and death.
What was
the hardest
scene to
shoot?
Adam Joseph: The scene
where I put my face on
the Brooklyn sidewalk.
Imagining the dirty shoes
and dogs that have
walked on that cement
and done their business
was very unsettling. I
sucked it up and did what
I had to do.
It’s appreciated. The
world needs songs like
“Gravity” right now.
Zach Adam: Agreed.
We need more thoughtprovoking
music, songs
that empower people
when they are feeling
down.
Adam Joseph: Songs
that open conversations
around hard topics like
addiction, depression
and suicide. Songs like
“Gravity” help people
understand that they are
not alone in their struggle,
and they offer hope that
we can overcome our
obstacles.
You guys are blowing up
my inbox with questions
about dicks. Questions
about your own, your
partner(s) and what’s
normal. Side note: I’m
not able to diagnose
anything, especially via
email, so if there’s pain
or something coming
out of your junk that’s
unexpected, go see your
doctor.
A study from 2015
included cock sizes from
over 15,000 men across
the world. Researchers
measured participants
both soft and erect
(probably not the worst
job ever) and reported
averages of 3.5 inches
soft and 5.2 inches erect.
But, not everyone is
in that range, and this
week I’ll answer a few
questions I’ve received
about the outsiders.
I’m a self-proclaimed
size-queen, but I’ve
fallen for someone
who is pretty small. We
went on a few dates
before I found out, and
THOMAS
TALKS
ABOUT:
now I really like him,
but I also love big dick.
I’m afraid I’m going to
miss it and might end
up cheating. – Gay,
male, 25
We like what we
like, and there isn’t
always something we
can change about it;
however, there are a few
things you can do in this
situation. First, you could
have a conversation
with him about getting
your needs met. Guys
know what their dicks
are, and if he’s not hung,
he’s likely aware of it.
It’s also possible that
people have stopped
dating him in the past
because of it, and If
that’s the case, he would
probably appreciate
talking about it instead
of just being dumped.
Come up with a plan
for pleasure that works
for both of you. This
could include toys, a
special hung guest star,
whatever you need—as
long as you both agree
on it. Second, you can
end it and look for
someone with a larger
dick. It’s really a choice
of what’s more important
to you now, a big dick
or continuing with this
guy. Neither choice is
better than the other,
it’s just where you are.
In NYC there’s always a
bigger dick around every
DICKS, DICKS, DICKS
corner, but connections
aren’t guaranteed.
My boyfriend has a
huge cock—I know,
woe is me. But really,
it’s too big, and I don’t
like bottoming for
him, because it hurts.
I do everything else to
get him off, but am I
supposed to just grin
and bear it, or am I
allowed to stop? – Gay,
male, 19
You’re young, listen
up. You do not have to
keep doing ANYTHING
sexual you don’t want to,
at any age. Sometimes
in relationships we do
things for our partners
that we maybe aren’t
so into, but don’t do
something that hurts you
if you don’t like it. If you
do want to bottom, but
more comfortably, there
are other things you can
try to loosen up. Include
plenty of foreplay like
fingering, toys, rimjobs
and different lubes (use
lots). There are also
anal trainers, which are
sets of butt plugs that
slowly stretch you over
time so you’re able to
accommodate a larger
dick more easily. Again,
if anything hurts too
much, stop. If you don’t,
you may run the risk of
developing anal fissures
(small painful tears),
which are easily treated
by a doctor, but literally
a pain in the ass.
