VersaChrome ® Tunable Bandpass Filters<br />

These game-changing optical filters do what no thin-film filter has ever done before: offer wavelength<br />

tunability over a very wide range of wavelengths by adjusting the angle of incidence with essentially<br />

no change in spectral performance. VersaChrome filters combine the highly desirable spectral<br />

characteristics and two-dimensional imaging capability of thin-film optical filters with the wavelength<br />

tuning flexibility of a diffraction grating. They are so innovative, they have been patented: U.S. Patents<br />

No. 8,441,710 and No. 9,304,237.<br />

With a tuning range of greater than 11% of the normal-incidence wavelength (by varying the angle of<br />

incidence from 0 to 60°), only five filters are needed to cover the full visible spectrum. They are ideal<br />

for applications ranging from fluorescence imaging and measurements to hyperspectral imaging and<br />

high-throughput spectroscopy. With their excellent polarization insensitivity and high optical quality<br />

and damage threshold, they are well-suited for a wide range of laser applications as well.<br />
