Carina's Bakery by Carina Comer
Carina Comer wants you to join her in creating pastries that tell a
sensational story and that bridge communities of all shapes, sizes
and abilities. Due to a brain tumor she developed at an early age,
she lost nearly half her vision before taking her first steps. Driven
toward her goals, she found a love of baking early on, inspired by
the memories of her Swedish grandfather. Her recipes come from
the homeland, from inside cozy cottages in the frozen northlands
of Sweden. She seeks to incorporate the simple ingredients once
available to her Viking ancestors.
Gnome Werks by Danyal Boyd
Gnome Werks Toys grew from Danyal Boyd's love of making toys
for her own children. As her children grew, the handmade toys
became more elaborate and it has really grown from there.
She loves dreaming up and designing new characters. Her toy
designs are inspired by children's literature and fairy tales because
fantastic stories and fairy tales get everyone's imagination moving.
Open-ended toys made with natural and all non-toxic materials
inspire imaginative play in young children, and their parents and
grandparents.
Fika Craft by Jessica Koenig
Fika Craft is the creation of Oregon-based, Scandinavian-born
Jessica Koenig, who grew up in the countryside doing a lot of just
that: Fika and Crafts. Fika is the Swedish word for a sit-down coffeelemonade-snack-break
(think cinnamon rolls and gingerbread
cookies). After traveling and living in lots of places and countries,
her creations and designs have been a way of finding a home
away from home. Designs are inspired by the windswept Nordic
landscape and by Swedish folk art. Her patterns are made to
complement the simplicity of Scandinavian homes.
