Canine KENZO Nobly Saves Deputies Lives
On June 4, 2012, K9 Kenzo selflessly placed
himself in harm’s way while tracking an armed
murder suspect. K9 Kenzo located the suspect
hiding and ready to ambush deputies. K9
Kenzo drew the suspect’s attention away from
approaching deputies resulting in him being
shot twice by the suspect before deputies could
return fire, killing the suspect.
K9 Kenzo is recovering from two gunshot
wounds and is expected to return to work
soon. During the ambush a Sheriff’s Office
Lieutenant sustained a gunshot wound to the
left leg. He is currently recovering.
K9 Kenzo is true hero and is recovering well.
“We chose Hospice of Palm Beach County and hospice care at
home. He was, to them, a total stranger and yet they treated him
like a member of their family.”
