Well would it be for every nation if its legislators<br />

Rudyard Kipling’s great “Recessional Ode,” for it<br />

is only by <strong>the</strong> cherishing <strong>of</strong> such l<strong>of</strong>ty and noble<br />

truths that states can derive a substantial prosperity,<br />

and statesmen an immortal renown:--<br />

“<strong>The</strong> tumult and <strong>the</strong> shouting dies,<br />

<strong>The</strong> captains and <strong>the</strong> kings depart;<br />

Still stands thine ancient sacrifice,<br />
