8 Materials
8.1 General
• 8.1.1 The purchaser shall specify if the service is sour (i.e. if sulfide stress
cracking is possible) in accordance with:
• ISO 15156 (all parts) for oil and gas production facilities and natural gas
sweetening plants, or
• in accordance with NACE MR0103 for other applications (e.g. oil
refineries, LNG plants and chemical plants),
in which case all materials in contact with the process fluid shall meet the
requirements of that standard.
NOTE For the purpose of this provision NACE MR0175 is equivalent to ISO
15156.
