Exploration of the Arctic and Antarctic Regions becomes vital in the agenda to broaden
knowledge for the extraction of natural undersea resources for polar transportation, protection of
the ecology and for improved staff training and education for sea and river transport. Therefore
NEVA 2009, in addition to its traditional topics, will include:
• Offshore Support Operations
• Staff Education and Training: this section is organized in conjunction with the World
Congress for Maritime High Schools, to be organised for the first time in the Russian
Federation during the Exhibition week.
The NEVA Sector “Sea and River Shipping” is organised since 1999 with the support of the Union
of Russian Ship-owners - SOROSS. SOROSS will arrange our own special stand during the event.
