Partner Connection Week
Baha Mar Nassau April 16-19, 2018

One point regarding the messaging around
building a security practice using network
çengineers – partners will be concerned
that training investments (time out of the
office and lack of billing) will come to
nothing if trained employees leave for
higher paid jobs at other companies. This
is a perennial problem and I believe can’t
be fixed until market maturity. However
graduate schemes can help – that is, being
more resources in to solve the problem.
Hearing executives messaging.
This helped solidify my
understanding of Cisco’s strategy
across architectures
Mark Paine - Gartner
It's a journey....
Cisco has been
and is on theirs.
Great that Cisco
is taking partners
along with them.
The ability to interact
with the entire
ecosystem while being
delightfully smalle than
Partner Summit.
Much more intimate
and valuable.
Steve White - IDC
Learning about Cisco’s strategy,
which allows me to build our
offerings around that strategy
and commitment. Great to meet
other partners and Cisco
representatives.
The reality of cloud is changing. Cloud
adoption continues to grow. But most
customers now find themselves in a
multi-cloud and hybrid environment, either
by default, or by design, or both. Their
primary concerns have shifted from how
do we get onto the cloud”, to “how do we
reduce operating costs in the cloud, which
cloud per application, how do we secure
this multi-cloud environment, how do we
integrate with our on-premises IT, and
how do we manage it all?” This creates a
substantial opportunity for channel
partners, because you are among the best
positioned to address all of these concerns.
Alastair Edwards - Chief Analyst at Canalys

Partner Story Message & Theme
Digital
Business
Digital business is here. It’s no longer a question of what, why, or when. It’s happening and it’s big.
Customers of all shapes and sizes are seeing the benefits and making significant investments. IDC
predicts worldwide spending on digital transformation technologies will expand at a compound
annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16.8% through 2019 to more than $2.1 trillion.*
Customer
Needs
Customers are focused on transforming their businesses to be more digital, more automated, more
personalized. They need help making digitization a reality in their business. With the right
technologies – from networking to security to multicloud – the right strategies, and the right services,
customers can achieve their digital business goals.
Secure,
Intelligent
Platform for
Digital
Business
In a world where everything is connected, you need a network that is constantly learning, adapting
and protecting. Cisco brings this idea to life— with analytics, machine learning and security built in.
The Network. Intuitive. Cisco is introducing intent-based capabilities across our entire portfolio
offering a secure, intelligent platform for digital business.
New Era
Requires
Sales
Evolution
To unlock the $2.1T opportunity, we are going to have to sell
differently. This means you will need to sell higher into the line
of business. Sell wider across the customer lifecycle. Sell
deeper with industry expertise. Combine this with connecting
and fostering relationships with ecosystem partners and
leveraging the new consumption model to create new, more
profitable sales routes. That’s when you unlock the value.
Value of New Model:
-Access new buyers
-Increase relevance
-Sell more software & services
-Increase gross margins &
profitability
-Grow deals 5-7x
Enabling
Your
Success
No one can do it alone. We strive to be your most strategic asset and to propel your success
through this transformation. We’ll help you develop new value for your products and services,
create recurring revenue opportunities, and win with other ecosystem partners. We can guide
your digital business with training, sales enablement, marketing resources, incentives, and more.
All of this while making it easier for you to align and do business with us.
Time to
Rise
Everyone has been talking about digital business for several years, but it’s no longer a future trend.
It’s here. It’s real. It’s now. Now is the time to Rise! Together, You with Cisco can rise up to the
challenge, and lead our customers in the digital journey.
Analyst Quotes
The reality of cloud is changing. Cloud adoption continues to grow. But most customers now find themselves in a multi-cloud
and hybrid environment, either by default, or by design, or both. Their primary concerns have shifted from “how do we get
onto the cloud”, to “how do we reduce operating costs in the cloud, which cloud per application, how do we secure this
multi-cloud environment, how do we integrate with our on-premises IT, and how do we manage it all?” This creates a
substantial opportunity for channel partners, because you are among the best positioned to address all of these concerns.
Alastair Edwards - Chief Analyst at Canalys
It's a journey.... Cisco has been and is on theirs. Great that Cisco is taking partners along with them.
Steve White - IDC
Cisco is giving partners multiple more opportunities to sell subscriptions and earn MRR over product resale or ELAs.
Cyndi Privett Viewpoint Research
Market change + business change (Cisco) + program change = a lot to keep in motion. Need to have a singular focus on
partner success. Steve White - IDC
One point regarding the messaging around building a security practice using network engineers – partners will be
concerned that training investments (time out of the office and lack of billing) will come to nothing if trained employees
eave for higher paid jobs at other companies. This is a perennial problem and I believe can’t be fixed until market maturity.
However graduate schemes can help – that is, being more resources in to solve the problem. Mark Paine - Gartner
