Alcohol Restrictions
Restrictions on the type and quantity of liquor that can be brought into various
remote Indigenous communities have been implemented in Queensland.
Alcohol Management Plans are developed by Community Justice Groups and
contain recommendations for declaring all or part of a community area, a
restricted area and/or a dry place. To download legislation documents,
brochures and forms relating to Liquor Licensing go to the Queensland
Government’s Liquor Licencing Division website at
www.liquor.qld.gov.au/our products/brochures.
Alcohol Licencing Information
• U18’s will only be permitted inside the licenced area if they are under the
direct supervision of a parent or an adult with parental rights and
responsibilities. U18’s are not permitted to consume alcohol anywhere on the
Western Cape College grounds.
• BYO alcohol is not permitted. Security will be on duty throughout the
weekend. Bags & esky’s will be searched on entry to the grounds.
• 18+ ID required at entry to the event. Wristbands will be fitted to 18+ patrons
on entry to the grounds. All patrons MUST have wristbands to purchase, hold
or consume alcohol.
• Alcohol cannot be consumed outside of
the licenced area, which will be clearly
identified with barricade and signage.
• No eskies are permitted on the grounds
(with the exception of being used to weigh in
fish during the weigh-in times)
• The Western Cape College is a SMOKE
FREE venue.
• The committee asks for your co-operation
in regards to these points, and following
Liquor Licencing Laws, to allow us to
provide a safe, fun and friendly environment
for all.
The WFC Committee, together with the WCC
endorse the responsible consumption of
