STRENX IN ROAD TRANSPORT
Strong and reliable from surface to core
Strenx steel increases payloads and improves fuel
efficiency of trucks and trailers by making them lighter
without losing performance, safety and service life.
All steel has the same specific weight, so the only
solution to less weight is to use thinner steel that is
stronger. Strenx steel solves the equation with yield
strengths of 600–1300 MPa, while still being as
welcome in the workshop as regular steel.
With a Strenx chassis weight can be decreased
significantly by using thinner plate that is also stronger.
Depending on the chassis design, Strenx can reduce the
total weight by 30–50%. A lighter trailer allows for an
increased payload so not only can it cart more material,
it will weigh less when empty. Increasing payload and
reducing fuel consumption is a huge win.
Reduced plate thickness enables a quicker and much
cheaper welding process. 10-metre sheets of Strenx
combined with out 8.2m forming capability means larger
profiled and formed parts requiring fewer welds.
With this in mind total production costs can be reduced
by 30%.
