STEEL PLATE HARDOX WEAR PLATE Swedish Steel (SSAB) Swedish Steel produces the cleanest, most consistent, most technically advanced high strength steels in the world. SSAB is a leading producer of advanced high strength steel, a product allowing for lighter product with increased strength and longevity. SSAB has an annual steel production capacity of 8.8 million tonnes. SSAB plate has an AccuRollTech guarantee. Computers check the plate over 100 times a second during roll out achieve a maximum thickness variation of 0.5–1.2mm for thicknesses of 2mm–80mm. Hardox Wear Plate Extreme wear resistance has always been key to the success of Hardox Hardox provides a unique combination of hardness and toughness for smarter, lighter structures with extreme performance and extended service life. Originally intended as a wear plate, it turned out that the unique combination of hardness and toughness allows Hardox to perform as a load-carrying part in many applications. With Hardox, you can design structures that are wear-resistant, strong and lightweight at the same time. Hardness and toughness working together Hardness is what gives Hardox its unique wear resistance and structural strength. Hardox delivers the same wear resistance during the plate’s entire service life, since it remains equally hard throughout. Hardness also provides excellent yield and tensile strength to resist deformation. Toughness is the other strong point of Hardox, making it possible for Hardox to be bent, formed and welded without cracking. If a Hardox wear plate is stressed beyond its yield point and plastically deformed—on purpose in the workshop or when hit by a heavy rock on site—it will resist cracking and if a localized crack should occur it will resist propagation. 8 0800 732 578 | REALSTEEL.CO.NZ
HARDOX WEAR PLATE STEEL PLATE FLATNESS Good for production and appearance. Flat plates can easily be welded to each other without problems with the welding gap. And if you are producing equipment with large flat surfaces they look great when painted or used as ‘billboards’. UNIFORM THICKNESS Narrow tolerances guarantees your finished structure will be as light as you expect. And when processing the plate even a fraction of a millimeter counts, since bending force and springback are directly related to the thickness. INTERNALLY RELAXED Thanks to careful heat treatment during production, Hardox wear plates have uniform internal properties. This means that a plate will stay flat when cut into smaller pieces, whether it’s cut cold or hot. IMPACT RESISTANT The impact force from large and heavy objects is distributed over the plate, resisting dents and cracking. The metal absorbs the energy and returns to its original shape like a tennis racket hitting a ball. WORKSHOP FRIENDLY Extreme consistency is a trademark of Hardox. When welding, bending or machining you can expect Hardox to deliver predictable performance within plates, between plates and over time. And as New Zealand’s Hardox Wearparts centre we’re always available for technical assistance from local and international engineers. 0800 732 578 | REALSTEEL.CO.NZ 9
