BEGINNINGS
WORLD CHAMPION FOR YEARS & STILL SECOND TODAY, Guillaume
CHASTAGNOL, MAINLY CALLED CHASTA, IS ONE OF THE MOST TALENTED
BROADRIDERS IN THE WORLD
Born in the French Alps, Chasta, is above all an highlander.
He started skiing at 2 years old & grew up on a diet of Snowboarding
& Skiing in LES DEUX ALPES Ski Resort

Guillaume's Life changed in the 90's when the NITRO TEAM bet on him
He immediately became a reference and one of the top Pro Riders in the world
At the same time, he fell in love with TAHITI & since then shared his life between the ocean &the mountains

Chasta relates: " My addiction to Snowboarding started 25 years ago.
After discovering Kite Sports 20 years ago, I really tried everything:
Riding on the snow, on water of course, on the grass, and even on volcanoes ''

SNOWKITING'S R-EVOLUTION THROUGH CHASTA
In the late 90's, Kite-Surf Sports became the new activity
to practice for many nature and sport lovers. Kite Surf nearly
replaced Windsurfing & also brought a new perception of the
ocean for surfers in the world. But it was only practised on flat
terrains
Guillaume Chastagnol discovered the very first Snowkites at the
same period. Pioneer in Snowkiting, our highlander took the
challenge to adapt & develop that discipline to his mountains.
Chasta ''I fell in love with this sport
for many reasons. Above all, Snowkiting gave me a new
perception of landscapes, allowing me to go wherever I
wanted in the mountains''
Snowboarding icon since years, Chasta’s partners
followed him in that new challenge to adapt that discipline to
his high mountains’ playground in France. And thanks to his
numerous professional Partnerships through the years,
Chasta definitely gave birth to a new sport.
Chasta was a Key member of OZONE’S R+D TEAM for 15 years,
of the RED BULL TEAM for 5 years. And more, Guillaume has
been representing NITRO SNOWBOARD & DAKINE for 25 years,
till today.

Step by step, Chasta tested in his high mountains' summits
new Materials, shapes, security systems.
And with other professionals & engineers following him
Chasta created new Kites with a better security, Plainly
adapted to his freestyle needs
He explains:''Usually practiced on flat
terrains, I chose to adapt Snowkiting itself and the
material, to my playgrounds in the Alps.
Very quickly, my sponsors believed in me & in
Kite Sports. They gave me the opportunity to push
Snowkiting more’’

Thanks to his knowledge and skills, with time & a lot of training,
The so-called Alien really accomplished impressive tricks,
Cliff jumps And even some hudge Flights in Snowkiting

Chasta also founded the well known CHASTA DAY'S EVENTS
2004 to 2011, Creating then one of the actual
Official Snowkiting's Competition Format
Since he's back, he may organize new ones in the future
Chasta even created his own snowkiting brand -RAPACE,still a reference

And starting with nearly nothing, we created anything!''

CHASTA'S CAREER EVOLUTION
In addition to his Snowboard career, The Flying man won many World Titles
in Snowkiting competitions: SEVEN TIMES WORLD CHAMPION between 2003
and 2012, he is still second today

Chasta: ''Kite Sports allow you to mix numerous different sport's styles:
wakeboarding, windsurfing, skating, surfing, paragliding and it’s still only
the beginning of this sport!”
Chasta's followers also called him The Legend for his initiatory
style both in Freestyle Snowboarding & Snowkiting

Chasta: “I entered lots of freestyle snowboarding, so it was
logical to do the same stuff with my kite’’.
Giving a new dimension to those disciplines through the years,
Chasta became a leader for snowboarders in the world till now,
always sharing his knowledge kindly to other riders.
Always willing to share his passion for Snowboarding & Snowkiting,
which other work partners & friends following him since his
beginning, Régis LABAUNE & Wareck ARNAUD, Guillaume
CHASTAGNOL created Seven Feature Films called NOMAD SERIES,
from 1997 to 2011. These series were the 1 st Feature films
mixed with Snowboarding, Surfing, Skateboarding, and

But also mainly due to his passion for ideology, cartography,geography
and meteorology, Guillaume really developed an exceptional &
inspirated field's interpretation, riding & flying where nobody went
before.
With his own sense of style, Chasta has created new tricks through
the years, but also has jumped in incredibly in some of the highest
summits in the world. And Till today, very few worldwide athletes can
achieve Chasta's 1080°' loops in competition. But he keeps on
dreaming of creating new figures all the time''.

Chasta's advice for the next generations:
''When we really want it, we can reach once goals,
keeping on working non-stop, because works always pays! Just
never give up! Work, work and work!''

Back in Europe this winter 2017-2018, the Athlete last joined the FLYSURFER
family:''After a break in Tahiti, I finally could get back to my roots & passion in France.
Thanks to my new Partnership with FLYSURFER KITEBOARDING, I recently took part
in several Snowkite World Championships to put me back in the race.''
started the season with the SNOW KITE MASTER's 2018 last January.In March he
won a Second Place on the Podium at the WORLD SNOWKITE CONTEST 2018 in Italy
Next season, Chasta will still attend more world competitions, but also some
Snowkiting Clinics & Progression Weeks. Maybe other projects on the ETNA again
& on MOUNT SHASTA VOLCANO, that almost has his name, to still get new
experiences.
Always supported by numerous followers through the world and by his
professional partners after 25 years - NITRO SNOWBOARD, DAKINE &
FLYSURFER's TEAMS, he still keeps an excellent relationship with
them.
Chasta adds: ''No need to prove anything for me
anymore. But why not kicking butt ass to some young guns, to show them I'm still
the boss in my mountains! ''/Smile
Guillaume told us few of his Pro Rider's secrets:
''I began with SSS'', Skating-Surfing-Snowboarding, and completed it with
mountain bike, paragliding, some rock climbing and of course Snowkiting.
Practising many activities definitely helped me to become a
successful high performance athlete. A full engagement is the condition''.

This Snowkiting pioneer has greatly helped to evolve
Freestyle
to where it is right now, making of
Snowkiting a new sport.
He explains:''As Snowkiting changed quite recently, people
don't know yet this sport's real potential. Suitable for nearly all
ages -from 5 to 75 years old, I always loved to share that new &
magical way of exploring the mountains''
