nutrition expert
Nutrition and lifestyle choices are a cornerstone of health, especially for
cancer patients. Having spent her career studying the impact of nutrition on
human health, Vanessa is an expert in this field.
Having founded VDA Nutrition, she is widely quoted and regularly
interviewed by the mass media, educating the public on the impact of food,
lifestyle choices and nutritional deficiencies on their health and wellbeing.
Her continued education includes studying integrative medicine, exercise
science and in 2015 she qualified as a barre instructor.

Elize van de Merwe
Counsellor
The emotional wellbeing of cancer patients is paramount to their recovery
and treatment. Elize is registered as a supportive counsellor, a qualified
SAQA facilitator, and has since 2012 been working directly with cancer
patients and their families with a specific interest in children.
She is particularly concerned with understanding the impact of cancer on a
patient’s psyche and emotional health and how this varies between people
and families. Elize is able to connect directly with patients and assist them
with their emotional wellbeing in a personalised and compassionate way.
Elize is responsible for the management of participating oncologists within
the programme and acts as a key contact person allowing for clear
communication between oncologists, their patients and the programme.
