one from ano<strong>the</strong>r, and to sacrifice unto and worship <strong>the</strong>m. So, <strong>in</strong> process of time, <strong>the</strong> glorious and<br />

<strong>the</strong>y had made <strong>the</strong>se images; but as for <strong>the</strong> Rock everlast<strong>in</strong>g, <strong>the</strong>re was no man that<br />

acknowledged him or knew him save a few persons <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> world, as Enoch, Methuselah,<br />

Noah, Sham, and Heber. And <strong>in</strong> this way did <strong>the</strong> world walk and converse till that pillar of<br />

<strong>the</strong> world, Abraham our fa<strong>the</strong>r, was born."<br />

images of brass and iron, wood and stone, and <strong>the</strong>y bowed down and served <strong>the</strong>m. And every<br />

man made his god and <strong>the</strong>y bowed down to <strong>the</strong>m, and <strong>the</strong> sons of men forsook <strong>the</strong> Lord all <strong>the</strong><br />

days of Enosh and his children; and <strong>the</strong> anger of <strong>the</strong> Lord was k<strong>in</strong>dled on account of <strong>the</strong>ir works<br />

and abom<strong>in</strong>ations which <strong>the</strong>y did <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> earth.<br />

"And <strong>the</strong> Lord caused <strong>the</strong> waters of <strong>the</strong> river Gihon to overwhelm <strong>the</strong>m, and he destroyed and<br />

consumed <strong>the</strong>m, and he destroyed <strong>the</strong> third part of <strong>the</strong> earth, and notwithstand<strong>in</strong>g this, <strong>the</strong> sons of<br />
