One hundred and seventy teams took part – 40 more than last year. Event manager Vanessa Fleming said the combination of perfect weather and enthusiastic runners and walkers made the day a fantastic success. Fendalton’s Indermohan Kaur was the lucky entrant who won the return flight for two to London courtesy of Singapore Airlines. She was running with the Placemakers team in the 6km event. Star Media chief executive Steve McCaughan said it was fantastic to see a great event enjoyed by all. “I would like to give a big thank you to all the sponsors who made it possible, but especially to all the Star Media team who worked tirelessly to make the event a success. I am very proud of their efforts,” he said. “It was great to see so many Cantabrians turning up to participate in this iconic event.” SPRINT START: Runners launch from the 14km start line at Centennial Park.
