BEYOND THE COMMONWEALTH GAMES
I AM REMINDED QUEENSLAND
IS AN ENORMOUS PLACE AND
OUR MEMBERSHIP IS FAR AND
WIDE. THAT IS WHY WE ARE
TAKING OUR SHOW ON THE
ROAD THIS MONTH.
Don’t be mistaken, I like many of you will be wholeheartedly embracing
all that the Gold Coast has to offer in April. We have invited the world to
our state, and members of the QHA will be working overtime to ensure all
the tourists, competitors and officials fall in love with Queensland. Despite
a missed opportunity from the State Government, our Broadbeach and
Surfers Paradise members will enjoy some extra trading hours which should
be approved by Parliament in March. We wish these members all the very
best of results!
However, I am reminded Queensland is an enormous place and our
membership is far and wide. That is why we are taking our show on the
road this month. I will be with some of our team in the far north visiting
Cairns, Mareeba, Mossman and Port Douglas, listening to the challenges
members face in these regions and delivering employment relations advice
and accommodation updates.
Townsville and the Burdekin get a visit as well, as we deliver the very first
Pubs, Pots and Profits seminar in association with CUB this month. Another
fantastic opportunity for our members to get the very best out of the QHA.
Our western members are not forgotten with the first ever training program
delivered in Cunnamulla!
I tell you this for one reason – we love to hear from all of you. Without your
knowledge, we will never know what is best for your region. Take advantage
of any member of the QHA when they visit, for any topic, so we can help
improve your business.
