Reporting directly to the Mine Manager, and indirectly to the Maintenance Manager you will take the lead role on all maintenance activities carried out on site to meet the operational and legislative requirements. This is a leadership role, with your day split between hands on tasks and administration. Good communication is essential to help ensure the site meets its targets. Key responsibilities include • All Maintenance work is completed in line with the Safety at Work Act 2015 and Mining Operations Regulations 2016. • Contributing to and ensuring adherence to maintenance plans, budgets and the availability and reliability of equipment on site • Providing strategic direction on mobile equipment/fixed plant maintenance strategies and improvement initiatives • Ensure the development, implementation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures, Safe Work Instructions/ Processes, and design standards for operational activities. • Develop, mentor and train personnel to achieve both succession planning and regulatory compliance requirement. • Ensure that maintenance activities and performance are maintained through actively promoting continuous improvement across all disciplines to improve safety and maintenance efficiencies and achieve budget costs To be successful for this role, you will need to be trade certified, have at least 3 years’ experience (post apprenticeship) as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or in a heavy equipment environment.
