Custom Made Garage Doors is a family
business run by Mal Hurrell. He’s been in
the industry most of his life, branching out
on his own nearly 20 years ago. “There was a

doors, a specialty at Custom Made Garage
Doors, are available in vertical or horizontal
panels, are constructed with
a steel frame and durable,
lightweight Western Red
Cedar. These are stylish

Smartline Doors are the
creation of Mal and Custom
Made Garage Doors. They

the high end. They are fivepanel
doors that are either
flat, or can include negative detailing to

powder coated on both sides in any colour
in the Dulux range, and can be insulated.
The Smartline Doors are cornering the
market. Mal and his team manufacture
these, and all high-end garage doors, at
the factory in Weedons and deliver them
to builders, building companies, and even
other garage door retailers throughout
the whole country. Demand for them is so
high, Custom Made Garage Doors now has
a branch in Auckland.
In addition to the impressive line-up
of garage doors, Custom Made Garage
Doors also manufactures a wide range of
sliding gates, side gates, pedestrian gates
and others. The company also makes steel
gates and gates to match the garage doors,
which use the same remote control, and
any number of options in between.
“The best flat panel door on the market
is our Idaho neg detail and our Phoenix
.75 doors,” he says, “and they come fully
insulated.”
