THE HOPES and dreams of reinstating a bus service between<br />
Darfield and Christchurch again has been crushed to bits.<br />
A lot of hard work was put into getting the bus trial off the<br />
ground, but as expected, getting people out of their cars is easier<br />
said than done.<br />
With fares as high as $9 for a one-way trip, it easy to understand<br />
why such a service was never going to last.<br />
Meanwhile, the district council has outlined its vision for<br />
what it wants to achieve for the next 10 years.<br />
The draft Long Term Plan <strong>2018</strong>-2028 has been given the green<br />
light to go to public consultation – and will be open from April<br />
4.<br />
From extending the <strong>Selwyn</strong> Aquatic Centre to introducing a<br />
district-wide rating for community centre, halls and reserves –<br />
some big changes for <strong>Selwyn</strong> are ahead.<br />
