Step Six - Continuous Improvement and Learning
The final step in the FES process is a formal review and validation of the lessons learned during the
well or project. The idea is to compare the actual results with the goals and expectations defined at the
beginning of the project. The objective is to improve the process for future operations.
There are six questions asked during the After Action Review (AAR):
• What were the plan and the goals for the well or project?
• What was done and/or accomplished?
• What were the differences between the plan and what was accomplished?
• Why did these differences occur?
• How do we sustain and promote what was done right?
