Integrated Cross-Sectorial Plan of Tirana-Durres Area
The Albanian Government and the National Spatial Plan have identified the Tiranë-Durrës area, as one of the most important economic areas of the country, and of the Balkan region. To ensure a sustainable territorial and urban development of this area, the Ministry of Urban Development in cooperation with the National Territorial Planning Agency has taken the initiative to draft a Cross-sectoral Integrated Plan for the economic area Tiranë – Durrës. The metropolitan region under study includes territories administered by 5 municipalities: Tiranë, Durrës, Vorë, Shijak, Kamëz. Protect the environment through natural resources recycling (RRR) and their use in the cyclical economy of farmers and local businesses. Create the facilities to manage these wastes in a controlled manner in regional schemes. Reuse them in cycles and support schemes for regional cooperatives. 2025-2030 RP5 – Development of the food chain Establishing and managing the agricultural land irrigation and drainage systems. Revitalizing the system of regional reservoirs: Tirana, Kamez, Vore, Kruje; Durres, Shijak, Kavaje Water supply for agricultural land. Create the integrated resource management systems. Connect in a controlled system the regional basins / reservoirs to continuously support agriculture.
