Integrated Cross-Sectorial Plan of Tirana-Durres Area
The Albanian Government and the National Spatial Plan have identified the Tiranë-Durrës area, as one of the most important economic areas of the country, and of the Balkan region. To ensure a sustainable territorial and urban development of this area, the Ministry of Urban Development in cooperation with the National Territorial Planning Agency has taken the initiative to draft a Cross-sectoral Integrated Plan for the economic area Tiranë – Durrës. The metropolitan region under study includes territories administered by 5 municipalities: Tiranë, Durrës, Vorë, Shijak, Kamëz. Establish temporary support information and training offices in the field of agriculture, with a focus on educating and certifying small farmers with farms under 3 ha. Develop programs with a broad focus for all age groups in the agricultural economy "From farm to plate". 2018-2021 RP4 - Economic development of private farms and cooperatives Developing medium and large rural farms. Modernizing agricultural farms in the municipalities of: Shijak, Vore, Durres, Tirana. Mechanize farms in the region through their modernization with efficient tools suitable for work processes, which improve conditions and efficiency in production processes. The target group are existing farms with a development potential of more than 15-30 employees. Develop financial schemes in partnership with the second level banking system. Use the local agricultural land fund to promote the consolidation of medium, non-family farms. Specialize agricultural farms in bio products to preserve more the tradition of the area. 2018-2022 RP4 - Economic development of private farms and cooperatives Establishing private cooperatives in rural areas: Sukth, Shijak, Zallherr, Farke, Peze, Ndroq, Bubq. Merge small specialized farms in defined regional directions by promoting voluntary initiatives through farmers or PPP co-financing. Merge small and medium-sized farms to better compete and improve and enhance the quality of agricultural products in farms with a surface area of over 7-10 hectares.
