Integrated Cross-Sectorial Plan of Tirana-Durres Area

The Albanian Government and the National Spatial Plan have identified the Tiranë-Durrës area, as one of the most important economic areas of the country, and of the Balkan region. To ensure a sustainable territorial and urban development of this area, the Ministry of Urban Development in cooperation with the National Territorial Planning Agency has taken the initiative to draft a Cross-sectoral Integrated Plan for the economic area Tiranë – Durrës. The metropolitan region under study includes territories administered by 5 municipalities: Tiranë, Durrës, Vorë, Shijak, Kamëz.

(retails, fresh<br />

food,<br />

commercial,<br />

information<br />

and counselling<br />

services)<br />

that can be<br />

reached from<br />

anyone in the<br />

community.<br />

Active efforts<br />

are needed to<br />

minimize<br />

climate<br />

change<br />

(people<br />

should be<br />

encouraged to<br />

recycle and<br />

save water,<br />

not to misuse<br />

land, not to<br />

destroy<br />

forests and<br />

new fields).<br />

Cleaner, safer<br />

and greener<br />

quarters shall<br />

be created<br />

(e.g. by<br />

reducing<br />

waste and<br />

graffiti and<br />

maintaining<br />

pleasant<br />

public<br />

spaces).<br />

People from<br />

all ages,<br />

races,<br />

cultures and<br />

skills should<br />

be provided<br />

with access to<br />

services,<br />

employment<br />

and education<br />

in the<br />

community.<br />

This impartiality<br />

is not a<br />

luxury. This<br />

should be a<br />

normal thing<br />

for anyone.<br />

Such<br />

impartiality<br />

should last<br />

longer in<br />

order to<br />

opportunities<br />

The residents<br />
