Warriors name unchanged team for Titans clash<br />
THE WARRIORS have embraced<br />
the old adage of if it’s not broken,<br />
then don’t fix it – naming an<br />
unchanged team for the match<br />
against the Gold Coast Titans on<br />
Saturday.<br />
After beating the South Sydney<br />
Rabbitohs in Perth in round one,<br />
the Warriors will look to carry<br />
the momentum with them into<br />
their first home game of the<br />
season.<br />
Young forward Isaiah Papali’i<br />
will have another chance to<br />
shine in the starting line-up with<br />
Simon Mannering still out due to<br />
injury.<br />
“Simon is a week-to-week<br />
proposition,” Warriors coach<br />
Stephen Kearney said. “We’ve just<br />
got to make sure we manage him<br />
pretty good. I’m doubtful he’ll be<br />
ready for this week. He’s a quick<br />
healer but we want to make sure<br />
we’re doing the right thing and<br />
looking after him.”<br />
Papali’i put in an 80min performance<br />
in the team’s round one<br />
win in Perth last weekend, and<br />
was rewarded with another berth<br />
in the No. 11 jersey.<br />
Papali’i was one of 11 Warriors<br />
to rack up more than 90 running<br />
metres against the Rabbitohs in<br />
Perth, as the side looked damaging<br />
with ball in hand.<br />
“What we achieved in Perth<br />
was certainly pleasing after the<br />
players had worked really hard in<br />
the preseason,” Kearney said.<br />
“<strong>The</strong> result there brought a sense<br />
of relief and also a sense of confidence<br />
in the way the players went<br />
about executing the game plan.<br />
“But for us it’s now all about<br />
this week and preparing well to<br />
give us the best chance of performing<br />
well on Saturday.”<br />
First five-eighth Blake Green<br />
and centre Solomone Kata were<br />
named in the squad in spite of<br />
being absent from training on<br />
Tuesday due to illness, with Kearney<br />
expecting them to be fine for<br />
the weekend.<br />
