Professional Retreat
A common practice among international corporations and even smaller
national companies is to organize retreats for their employees. As of 2014, the
Albanian government now requires that each ministry take on a fixed number
of summer interns, and retreating is common at the beginning or ending of
the session. There is a large and growing demand for facilities that can host
retreats from the private sector, and a guaranteed need from the public sector.
Retreats are critical for bonding between co workers, and even for being a
competitive company—it has become a required perk to offer. Steve Jobs of
Apple Computer took his inner circle on a retreat every year and wrote that
they were always the most important and productive brainstorming sessions
the company had. For a successful retreat, the most important thing employers
need is isolation. They need to be able to spend anywhere from 3 to 5 days
together, uninterrupted, in an inspiringly beautiful environment. Every village
in the Bregdet offers just that. Similar to the summer camp, a professional
retreat program would bring consistent economic benefit to a village through
accommodations, catering, and other required services like cleaning. Retreats
can be thought of as a mix of work and vacation. Because they do require work
to be done, the best thing about the retreats is that they are extremely quiet—
the participants stay together, focused, and out of the way.
