A Day in the Life... HR Manager at Crowne Plaza Nottingham My day starts anywhere between 8.30am and 2.30pm depending on what’s happening in my diary. I always make sure I attend the 10 at 10 (our team get together to discuss the business of the day) but I like to come in later if I’m going to see the nights team. One of the things I love most about my job is that it’s not a 9-5 environment and the flexibility is there for me to work any day of the week! I plan my day around people and admin. Sometimes, HR can be all admin and while I get that, I believe it’s so important to focus on the people side of the role. I walk around the hotel and say good morning to team members and stop for a chat. I like to know what’s going on with them and it helps me in building relationships. I expect our team members to do the same with our guests so they come across in a positive way, happy and confident in their roles.
