Tandem Acme Taps<br />
Right and Left Hand High Speed Steel<br />
Tandem or Dual Style Acme Taps are designed to produce Acme threads in a single pass without a<br />
leadscrew. It is made in 2 sections separated by a neck. The roughing section has a 45º included angle<br />
thread permitting easier relief and eliminating a wide, flat Acme crest - giving freer cutting action and<br />
greater stock removal. The last few threads of the roughing section are a guide for the finishing section,<br />
which corrects the angles and finishes the thread formation to proper size. These taps are designed for<br />
through hole applications only, they should never be reversed from the hole.<br />
