PARADE OF HOMES<br />
The Parade of Homes event is a terrific opportunity for the<br />
design/building industry to demonstrate its best work<br />
directly to the public. Show homes inherently require a<br />
lot of time as well as capital invested by the participating<br />
professionals, but the promotional opportunities are<br />
exhilarating, and may reap for your company untold new<br />
business through the years.<br />

June 2 and 3, June 5 and 7, June 9 and 10<br />
Saturday: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm<br />
Sunday: 12:00 Noon – 5:00 pm<br />
Tuesday and Thursday: 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm<br />
The Parade focuses on our members and brings them<br />
into the limelight for two weeks to showcase new home<br />
construction. As many as 3,000-4,000 visitors tour<br />
the Parade of Homes. It is one of the highlights in this<br />
community. The Association is made up of 300 builders,<br />
sub-contractors, developers, service businesses, financial<br />
institutions and designers working toward the final<br />
product. The Association team pools their expertise to<br />
showcase the work of our members. Members participate<br />
by supplying new product and services to the general<br />
contractors, purchasing ads in the Guidebook, and helping<br />
to promote the parade.<br />
Media partners develop a multi-media marketing<br />
campaign to promote the Parade. The four-color magazine<br />
features area builders, home renderings, trends, maps<br />
and advertising opportunities for members only. This<br />
group participation offers members of the Association the<br />
opportunity for cost-effective marketing opportunities. The<br />
Parade is marketed through all media sources including<br />
TV, print, electronic media and radio stations. Our website<br />
www.iowacityhomes.com features all parade homes, and<br />
provides information on the Association and listing of all<br />
Association members. Check out our social media sites<br />
used to promote all <strong>HBA</strong> events.<br />
The Association sponsored its first ever Builder Excellence<br />
Awards in 2003 and will continue to recognize builders for<br />
overall excellence in new home construction. Categories<br />
focus on overall excellence and professional judges are<br />
called to determine the winners.<br />
The Parade of Homes is Co-Sponsored by Hills Bank and<br />
Trust Company and Urban Acres Real Estate. Deery Brothers<br />
Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is the official Truck Sponsor.<br />
REMODELERS PARADE<br />
The best marketing tool for remodelers was adding them to<br />
the first weekend of the parade! The Parade of Homes is an<br />
established brand trusted by the community. By adding the<br />
strength of the Parade of Homes to our Remodelers Parade,<br />
the event has achieved greater success. This will ensure we<br />
reach more families with our message to visit your home.<br />

Remodeling remains strong and our local association has over<br />
70 members that support the Remodelers Council and its<br />
activities. As an extension of the Home Builders Association, the<br />
Remodelers Council has organized a showcase of remodeling<br />
projects in this area. The Remodelers Parade has displayed<br />
excellent projects and an increase in Remodelers showcasing<br />
their remodeling projects. The Remodelers Parade showcases<br />
the expertise of its members in two ways: <strong>HBA</strong>’s success in<br />
organizing Parades for over 50 years and the talents of our<br />
Remodelers to showcase their work to the public. Association<br />
members market the Remodelers Parade very similarly to the<br />
Parade of Homes with a multi-media campaign supported by<br />
members. Before and after photographs, articles, descriptions<br />
of the homes, maps and membership listing and advertising<br />
by members are included in the guidebook. Print media, radio<br />
and TV also promote the Parade.<br />
The council received a CADRE award from NAHB in 2000,<br />
for membership recruitment and retention. In 2003,<br />
the council won the CADRE Award – Best Community<br />
Service Project in the country! In 2004, the Association’s<br />
Executive Officer received the Best Executive Officer of<br />
the Year/Council Coordinator from the NAHB. The council<br />
continually supports community service projects homes,<br />
Habitat for Humanity, remodels for the handicapped and<br />
numerous other projects.<br />
