Vocational Training Council<br />

GT Karr, Chairperson<br />

Promoting the local remodeling industry by developing<br />

programs to identify, refer, recognize, endorse, educate<br />

and offer support to members. The council provides<br />

opportunities to network locally, regionally and nationally<br />

and coordinates the Iowa City area annual <strong>HBA</strong> Remodelers<br />

Parade. Additional $55.00 membership fee applies.<br />

Women’s Council<br />

Kelly Manning and<br />

Phoebe Martin, Co-Chairs<br />

Recognizes women in the home building industry. Programs<br />

are designed to inform, educate, and offer assistance to<br />

association members on various projects of mutual interest.<br />

The Council meets once per quarter. Contact us about<br />

sponsoring a program for luncheon meetings.<br />

Aaron McGlynn, Chair<br />

The Home Builders Association of Iowa City Vocational<br />

Training Council assists and supports area schools in the<br />

operation of their vocational training programs.<br />

Land Development Council<br />

Legislative Committee Activates as needed<br />

The Land Development Council consists of members<br />

involved in the land development segment of the building<br />

industry. The Council was formed as a business league and<br />

the primary purposes of the Council is to promote and<br />

advocate equitable development standards by educating<br />

local city and county officials about ordinances and policies<br />

affecting land development. The Council strives to maintain<br />

a high level of professionalism through continuing<br />

governmental relations and representation. The Council<br />

provides activities, such as education, communication and<br />

other services for members of the Council and serves as an<br />

advocate for the members of the Council.<br />
