Join Us as Our Industry Grows!<br />
On behalf of the Greater Iowa City Area <strong>HBA</strong> – Welcome. If you are<br />
a member, thank you for your commitment to our association. If you<br />
are not currently active with us, I would like to invite you to join our<br />
association of home builders, trade contractors, and related product<br />
and service providers. One question I am often asked is, “What are<br />
the benefits of membership?”<br />
Government Services. First and foremost, The Greater <strong>IC</strong> Area <strong>HBA</strong><br />
works with city, county, state, and federal officials to enact legislation<br />
and policies which promote development and construction. Key<br />
issues currently include:<br />
• Workforce Development – How are we replacing our aging workforce?<br />
• Inclusionary Zoning<br />
• Affordable Housing<br />
• Storm water Best Management Practices<br />
Educational Programs. We work to provide educational programs that give you the tools to<br />
gain an edge in the industry. In our competitive and ever changing industry, keeping up on the<br />
latest OSHA regulations, contracts, employee training etc. is critical. The Iowa City Area <strong>HBA</strong> and<br />
the National <strong>HBA</strong> work to provide literature, local training, on-line training, and information so<br />
our members can be successful.<br />
Access to NAHB’s Team of Expert Advisors who can address your specific business questions.<br />
When you become a Home Builders Association member, you get instant access to the National<br />
<strong>HBA</strong>’s distinguished economists, tax experts, legal research staff, business management<br />
consultants, financial experts and regulatory and technical specialists.<br />
Networking Events. Many companies join for the great networking events and programs which<br />
provide builders and associates with a tremendous opportunity to build business relationships.<br />
