Program of Work
1
Message from our Chairman
I want to thank you for
allowing me to serve as the Chair
of the Russellville Area Chamber
of Commerce for 2018. It is an
honor, and I will work hard with
you to continue to build a better
Russellville.
First and most importantly,
I want to thank Brad Allen for
his hard work in putting together
a new organizational structure
aimed at chamber member
participation. For seven months,
Brad held numerous member
feedback sessions in order to build
the Program of Work for 2018
that you will see in the following
pages.
This Program of Work is
written by the membership from
a grass roots level that we have
the privilege of implementing this
year. The seven new councils and
numerous task forces enable every
chamber member to participate in
building a better Russellville.
I can assure you that your
organization is fully engaged and
eager to continue our daily work
at helping our community be more
russellvillechamber.org
profitable and to have a better
quality of life.
I want to personally thank
the willingness of the seven
council chairs for undertaking
the leadership responsibilities of
the new councils. They are: Chip
Blanchard, First State Bank, Dr.
Mark Gotcher, Russellville School
District, Andy McNeill, Denali
Water Solutions, Steve Mallett,
City Corporation, Tonya Oates,
Turning Point Adult Behavioral
Health, Joe Wolfe, JBS, Kylia
Stewart, Suddenlink Media - Altice
USA, and Todd Sweeden, Sweeden
Florist.
I am enthusiastic about
our new emphasis on economic
development and governmental
affairs. We look forward to
adding the chamber’s resources
of staff and financial support
to compliment the Arkansas
Valley Alliance for Economic
Development, which had an
exceptional year in 2017.
Throughout Arkansas we have
noticed that chambers and regional
economic development alliances
are much more successful when
they work together for job growth.
Governmental affairs, as it relates
to business, will be a much needed
aggressive program to assist local
business and industry in taking
positions that will accelerate job
growth.
Having grown up in
Russellville, I am confident in
saying I cannot remember a more
exciting time in our city. Review
the Program of Work, find a
place to serve and, let’s roll up our
sleeves and go to work to make
our fellow Arkansans look up and
take notice of Russellville because
we are one of the top cities in this
great state.
