Poker was the name of the game, and black and white the theme,<br />
as deep beneath the Christchurch Casino, Lady Luck was flirted<br />
with. The Mashina Lounge was the venue in which, drenched in<br />
mystery, hands were dealt and cards laid on the table. Many<br />
charities were to benefit from the shuffling and steely-eyed mindmessing<br />
when bets both careful and reckless were made, to win<br />
or lose on the whim of fortune. In the dark, sultry saloon, no<br />
matter which way the cards fell, all present were winners<br />
as the act of giving proved to be the greatest prize of all.<br />
