group of national language<br />

advisers and the New<br />

Zealand Association of<br />

French Teachers as one<br />

of 10 students to travel<br />

to France and Belgium<br />

in <strong>September</strong> to mark<br />

the 100th anniversary of<br />

the battle. He will travel<br />

with Materia Hutana, of<br />

Cashmere High School,<br />

the only other Christchurch<br />

representative.<br />

HONING THEIR SKILLS: Rock climbing was one of the many<br />

activities Wainoni School pupils took part in during their<br />

three-day camp at Living Springs last week. Two Wainoni<br />

classes attended the camp, with about 37 pupils in total.<br />

During their time at the camp, pupils visited a farm, went<br />

swimming and trampolining, fired air rifles, tried their hand at<br />

archery and went hiking.<br />

School’s senior hip hop group ,Wow the Audience, put on a top 10 performance at an<br />

inter-school competition last week. The group performed a well-choreographed dance at<br />

the Elmwood School Auditorium, and earned a spot in the top 10 in their first competition.<br />

Marshland principal Jacqui Pascoe said the group came together for an awesome<br />

performance.<br />
