Every Wednesday in September,
11.30am-12.15pm and
12.15-1pm
The Wainoni Avonside
Community Services Trust
is holding local body election
forums throughout September.
A CDHB election forum
will be held on September 7,
from 11.30am to 12.15pm,
with Margaret Austin. From
11.45am to 1pm the following
Wednesday, September 14,
an Environment Canterbury
election forum will take
place. Then on September
21, from 12.15pm to 1pm,
there will be an election
forum for both the Burwood
and Coastal Wards and the
Linwood and Central Wards.

Every Monday, from
1.30pm
This month at the New
Brighton Museum, four movies
will be shown – a film on
each Monday. Go along early
for a cup of tea, a biscuit and
a chat with museum staff.

September 19, Eureka Stockade,
Australian drama, 1949.

Sensory Movie Day – The
Palms
Sunday September 11, from
10.30am
Sensory movie day is an
inclusive event for families
with special needs or sensory
processing disorders. The
movie will be The Secret
FAMILY FUN: Every Wednesday, make your way down to
the mums, dads and bubs group, hosted by the Linwood
Playcentre. Meet other mums and dads in your community
for shared kai and a well-earned coffee while watching
the tamariki play and learn. Older siblings are welcome.
Discussions will be had around babies’ learning and
development and experiences as parents. The playcentre is
located at 628a Worcester St, Linwood. No entry fee.
Life of Pets. Lighting will be dim,
the sound lowered and volunteers
will be monitoring fire exits
and doors. Children are free to
move around, it’s a no judgement
zone. Proceeds will go to The
Champion Centre. Purchase
tickets from the customer service
kiosk in the mall.

Storytimes
Every Tuesday, 10.30am-11am
Every Tuesday, go along to the
Shirley Library to enjoy a half
hour of rhymes and stories. Programmes
include stories, music,
movement and rhymes, puppets,
props and plenty of fun for the
whole whanau. All programmes
run during school terms only.
