• Ranked 12th in the world in Aerials in 1997-98.
Dmitriy Kavunov
Technical Coach – World Cup Aerial Team
Residence: Lake Placid, NY
• Third season with the Canadian World Cup
team.
• Former Head Coach of the Uzbekistan
Freestyle Ski Team.
• Twenty years of coaching with Freestyle Ski
teams.
• Seven years coaching experience in
gymnastics sports schools.
Toben Sutherland
Head Coach - FlightSchool Aerial Team
Residence: Whistler, BC
• Fourth season as Head Coach.
• Accomplished Freestyle Skier and Freeskier.
• As a combined skier on the Canadian Team,
Toben won five World Cup medals (including
three wins) and was the Combined World Cup
Grand Prix Champion in 1997.
• Brings experience of 100 World Cup starts and
seven years of coaching to the job.
Nicolas Fontaine
Head Coach of the Jump 2010 program
• Three-time World Cup Aerial Champion, and
1997 World Aerial Champion.
• Has been instrumental in the construction
of a world-class water ramp facility, Centre
National d’Entraînement Yves LaRoche in
Le Relais, Quebec.
Katherina Kubenk
Coach and coordinator for the Western Jump
2010 program
• 1993 World Cup Combined Champion
• Two time Canadian Olympian
• Member of the Canadian Freestyle Ski team
for nine years
