• Silver medallist at the 2005 FIS World Freestyle Ski Championships in Finland.
• Captured his first World Cup win at Tremblant in 2004 while still a rookie to the World Cup tour.
• Third year as a World Cup team member.
• Considers himself a “worker” with the ability to focus on his goal.
• Goal for the season: “To perform at my very best as often as possible.”
• Considers his World Championship medal his career highlight to date.
• Continues to pursue his studies at University in business administration while competing for the
World Cup team.
• Enjoys Longboard, golf and tennis.
• Started skiing at the age of seven and began competing in Freestyle skiing at the age of 12 when he
joined a regional club.
• Was inspired to get into Freestyle after watching the 1994 Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway.
• Heroes include Superman and Jean-Luc Brassard.
• Greatest influences in life: “My parents, my girlfriend (Marilène Tétrault) and my agent Paul Thouin.
They help me to make good decisions, and have always given me 100% support in what I do.”
• Despite his busy schedule, Marc-André makes sure each summer that he spends one full day with
both his little brother Vincent (12) and little sister Andrea (10) focussing on an activity of their choice.
• Considers the opportunity to compete at the Olympic Games a “Dream come true.”
