Optional Programs<br />
Architecture students are encouraged to select electives<br />
that provide a sequence <strong>of</strong> 15 credit hours <strong>of</strong> learning<br />
experiences related to a specific interest that will reinforce<br />
the curriculum.<br />
Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Architecture/Master <strong>of</strong> Business Administration Double-Degree Option<br />
Qualified students may earn both the Bachelor <strong>of</strong><br />
Architecture and Master <strong>of</strong> Business Administration<br />
(M.B.A.) degrees in six, rather than the normal seven,<br />
years. Students who are completing their eighth semester,<br />
or an equivalent <strong>of</strong> 124 credit hours, in architecture<br />
at IIT may apply for entry into the joint program. They<br />
Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Architecture/Master <strong>of</strong> Civil Engineering Double-Degree Option<br />
Qualified students regularly enrolled at IIT may earn<br />
both the Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Architecture and the Master <strong>of</strong> Civil<br />
Engineering (M.C.E.) Degrees. They must complete<br />
preparatory courses for the M.C.E. prior to entry into the<br />
combined program. Students who anticipate entry into<br />
the combined program and who intend to specialize in<br />
structural engineering must successfully complete the<br />
following courses as part <strong>of</strong> their undergraduate program<br />
in architecture: MATH 151, MATH 152, MATH 251,<br />
CAE 303, CAE 304, CAE 307, CAE 310, CAE 431, and<br />
CAE 432 in place <strong>of</strong> MATH 119, MATH 122, CAE 287,<br />
CAE 351, CAE 352 and as technical electives. Students<br />
Minors and Concentrations<br />
College <strong>of</strong> Architecture students may pursue a minor in<br />
another department; however, the requirements for a<br />
minor must be met in addition to the curricular requirements<br />
for the Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Architecture degree.<br />
Requirements for architecture electives are most <strong>of</strong>ten<br />
met by courses <strong>of</strong>fered in the College <strong>of</strong> Architecture.<br />
When deemed appropriate by an adviser or a dean, and<br />
in consultation with the Office <strong>of</strong> Educational Services, a<br />
select number <strong>of</strong> courses from other departments may<br />
