Multicultural Student Services
The Office of Multicultural Student Services (OMSS)
addresses issues of diversity and encourages awareness
and respect of all cultures globally. The OMSS serves as
a clearing house for data on multicultural issues and
assists the IIT community to better understand the
issues that confront multicultural students.
Serving as the primary office of advocacy for underrepresented
students of color, gay/lesbian, and disabled
students, the OMSS offers support services, and educational
and social programming aimed at the recruitment,
retention, personal and professional development, and
success of all IIT students.
Residence Life
More than half of IIT’s full-time undergraduates live
on campus. The Residence Life Office offers a wide range
of programs and services designed to enhance campus
life. The office coordinates resident advisers, student

ombudsperson for students. The office also manages the
