Post-Baccalaureate Certificate and Certificate Programs<br />

Certificate Programs<br />

The Department <strong>of</strong> Civil and Architectural Engineering<br />

<strong>of</strong>fers a certificate program in Engineering Graphics and<br />

CAD. This program is designed to prepare specialists in<br />

graphics for positions in business and industry. Students<br />

completing the specified courses with satisfactory grades<br />

will be awarded a certificate <strong>of</strong> completion. Consult the civil<br />

and architectural engineering section in this bulletin for<br />

further information.<br />

The Industrial <strong>Technology</strong> and Management Program also<br />

<strong>of</strong>fers two certificate programs. The Industrial <strong>Technology</strong><br />

and Management (INTM) certificate is designed for individuals<br />

who want to improve management, supervisory<br />

Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Programs<br />

IIT <strong>of</strong>fers a number <strong>of</strong> certificate programs at the graduate<br />

level including bioengineering, computer networking<br />

and telecommunications, computer science, construction<br />

management, earthquake and wind engineering design,<br />

electrical and computer engineering, energy/environment/<br />

economics, environmental studies, food process engineering,<br />

geoenvironmental engineering, infrastructure<br />

engineering, and management, intelligent information<br />

Pre-Pharmacy Program<br />

IIT and Midwestern University have a Dual Acceptance<br />

Program for Midwestern’s Chicago College <strong>of</strong> Pharmacy<br />

(CCP). To be eligible for this program, students must<br />

meet IIT’s admission requirements and also be selected<br />

for admission by the CCP Admissions Committee.<br />

Successful applicants will be ensured a seat at CCP<br />

upon successful completion <strong>of</strong> the pre-pharmacy requirements<br />

within two years at IIT; maintain a minimum<br />

Joint Programs<br />

IIT has established joint programs with the following<br />

Chicago-area institutions: DePaul University, Wheaton<br />

College, Benedictine University, Elmhurst College,<br />

Dominican University and University <strong>of</strong> St. Francis.<br />

These programs differ from a 3+2 transfer program in<br />

that students earn two degrees: a bachelor’s degree in an<br />

engineering discipline from IIT and a bachelor’s degree in<br />

Dual Admissions Programs<br />

IIT has established dual admissions programs with<br />

College <strong>of</strong> DuPage and Joliet Junior College. These 2+2<br />

programs allow students to complete an Associate’s<br />

degree and a Bachelor’s degree in 4 years <strong>of</strong> study with<br />

transfer credit. The bachelor’s degree program areas<br />

include <strong>Information</strong> <strong>Technology</strong> and Management (ITM)<br />

operations. The Training the Technical Trainer (T3)<br />

certificate assists potential teachers <strong>of</strong> technology with<br />

curriculum development, teaching approaches, and training<br />

The <strong>Institute</strong> <strong>of</strong> Psychology <strong>of</strong>fers a certificate in<br />

Industrial Training. This certificate is designed to help<br />

either the experienced skilled worker or a technically<br />

educated person to learn methods <strong>of</strong> knowledge delivery<br />

in industrial training settings.<br />
