Combined Undergraduate/Graduate Law Programs (Leading to B.S./J.D. Degrees)<br />
Students in these programs study their undergraduate<br />
program at the Main Campus <strong>of</strong> IIT and the law school<br />
portion <strong>of</strong> the program at IIT’s Chicago-Kent College <strong>of</strong><br />
Law. Two combined undergraduate and graduate law<br />
degree programs are available.<br />
Honors Law Program<br />
The Honors Law Program allows students to pursue<br />
an accelerated sequence <strong>of</strong> coursework leading to the<br />
Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Science and Juris Doctor degrees. Students<br />
apply to the Honors Law Program prior to the beginning<br />
<strong>of</strong> their freshman year. Acceptance by Chicago-Kent is<br />
automatic for those students who meet the minimum<br />
program requirements. Students are guaranteed a seat<br />
in the Chicago-Kent entering class provided that they<br />
meet the following criteria:<br />
a) maintain a 3.25 cumulative undergraduate GPA<br />
b) take the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) by<br />
February <strong>of</strong> their third undergraduate year at IIT<br />
and achieve an LSAT score at or exceeding the median<br />
score for the Chicago-Kent entering class<br />
c) submit a completed application to Chicago-Kent<br />
by April 15 <strong>of</strong> the third undergraduate year<br />
d) maintain a record consistent with the requirements<br />
<strong>of</strong> the bar examining program<br />
Business Honors Law Program<br />
The Business Honors Law Program allows students to<br />
obtain both a B.S. in Business Administration and a J.D.<br />
degree. Students apply to the Business Honors Law<br />
Program prior to the beginning <strong>of</strong> their freshman year.<br />
Business Honors Law students are guaranteed admission<br />
to Chicago-Kent College <strong>of</strong> Law provided they meet the<br />
following criteria:<br />
a) maintain a 3.25 cumulative undergraduate GPA<br />
b) take the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) by<br />
February <strong>of</strong> their third undergraduate year at IIT<br />
and achieve an LSAT score at or exceeding the median<br />
score for the Chicago-Kent entering class<br />
c) submit a completed application to Chicago-Kent<br />
by April 15 <strong>of</strong> the third undergraduate year<br />
d) fulfill the undergraduate requirements specified<br />
by the B.S.B.A. program and complete the required<br />
undergraduate courses<br />
B.S./M.D./D.O./O.D. Programs<br />
In addition to premedical studies, IIT <strong>of</strong>fers three dual<br />
degree programs. Students earn a bachelor’s degree from<br />
IIT and a medical degree from the medical or optometry<br />
school. These innovative programs are designed to meet<br />
IIT/Midwestern University Chicago College <strong>of</strong> Osteopathic Medicine Dual Admission Program (4+4)<br />
The IIT/Midwestern B.S./D.O program is an eight year<br />
program open to freshmen applicants in which students<br />
complete their undergraduate B.S. degree at IIT in a major<br />
<strong>of</strong> their choosing. Students must complete a standard curriculum<br />
<strong>of</strong> premedical studies either as part <strong>of</strong> their major<br />

Special Programs<br />
Prelaw undergraduate students also have access to<br />
seminars, prelaw advising and assistance preparing<br />
for the LSAT.<br />
Students who participate in the program but who do not<br />
meet the criteria for guaranteed admission are invited<br />
to apply through the regular competitive application<br />
process for admission to Chicago-Kent after three years<br />
<strong>of</strong> undergraduate study. In reviewing such applications,<br />
consideration will be given to the student’s participation<br />
in the Honors Law Program.<br />
Students who major in biology, chemistry, computer information<br />
systems, humanities, physics, political science,<br />
pr<strong>of</strong>essional and technical communications, or psychology<br />
pursue an accelerated, focused course <strong>of</strong> study and normally<br />
complete both their B.S. and J.D. degrees in six<br />
years instead <strong>of</strong> the usual seven years. Students in other<br />
majors may also be able to accelerate completion <strong>of</strong> both<br />
degrees. Undergraduates may seek four-year, merit-based<br />
financial aid, including full- and half-tuition scholarships.<br />

the academic standards for guaranteed admission are<br />
invited to apply through the regular competitive application<br />
process for admission to Chicago-Kent College <strong>of</strong><br />
Law after three years <strong>of</strong> undergraduate study.<br />
While the B.S.B.A. program is a full 4-year program,<br />
students in the Business Honors Law Program have the<br />
possibility <strong>of</strong> accelerating the curriculum to complete the<br />
B.S. and the J.D. in 6 years. This will require incoming<br />
Advanced Placement credit and/or summer school and<br />
should be discussed with an academic adviser.<br />

The final four years are spent at Midwestern University-<br />
Chicago College <strong>of</strong> Osteopathic Medicine, during which the<br />
