Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Science in Journalism <strong>of</strong> <strong>Technology</strong>, Science and Business (JTSB)<br />
Journalism is possibly the most important occupation in<br />
a free and democratic society, and the demand for journalists<br />
is increasing as news outlets proliferate. Today, in<br />
addition to newspapers and magazines, there is news on<br />
radio, television, cable, satellite TV and radio, web sites,<br />
and even cell phones and iPods. And as the number and<br />
types <strong>of</strong> news outlets increase, many are also specializing<br />
in science, technology and business. The JTSB degree<br />
program meets this specialized demand by incorporating<br />
IIT's considerable resources in the sciences, business,<br />
engineering and other technological areas with the<br />

Humanities department’s strengths in communication<br />
and STS (science and technology in society). This is a<br />
rigorous curriculum: our students go above and beyond<br />
the minimum general education requirements in mathematics,<br />
the sciences and engineering, computer science,<br />
business, communication and humanities courses. By<br />
educating strong writers who have a clear understanding<br />
<strong>of</strong> science, technology and business, and the way such<br />
disciplines relate to society, the JTSB program gives its<br />
