Who's Responsible? 

Every situation of life is "A RESPONSIBILITY", 

including all and excluding none! Marriage, 

study, pastoring, employment, civil service, 

trade and business and name it! Is a 

responsibility! Laziness is a responsibility. We 

cannot do without being responsible for all we 

do 

The nature and level of our "RESPONSIBILITY" 

go a long way in determining who we are, and 

when and why and how. We determine what we 

know, where we reach and what we get to 

possess. 

A man is a man because he is "RESPONSIBLE" 

for his thoughts, words and actions. He can 

never be severed from "RESPONSIBILITY". He 

is born with it, lives with it and dies with 

determines how responsible he will be and that 

determining in turn the result or consequencehow 

his life looks like.

The Creator has His Own "RESPONSIBILITY" 

and man has his in the running and continuance 

of the planet earth. 

Even in eternity, man will not exist without 

"RESPONSIBILITY" - he has work to do there 

forever. The sinner on the other hand has a 

"RESPONSIBILITY" there to suffer for his evil 

deeds. 

"RESPONSIBILITY" is for a lifetime. 

"RESPONSIBILITY" is for Eternity! 

I write this for the sake of men of all ages, I 

write this for the sake of men of all races. I 

write for the sake of humans of both sexes, to 

the business man and civil servant; to the 

father, mother and children; the one who 

teaches and the who is taught. To all I write 

this piece. Why? Because the causes and 

effects of responsibility affects all of them! No 

one is exonerated.

I write because all issues of life require 

responsibility. All relationships- parentchildren 

relationship; pastor-member 

relationship; leader-follower relationship; 

husband-wife relationship etc require 

responsibility. Likewise all endeavours building 

a house, getting a life partner; ownership of a 

car or property. Attaining any height requires 

responsibility, maintaining that height requires 

more and more. 

I will use "metaphor system" to dive into the 

concept of responsibility to make the points 

vivid and clear. I hope with my young mind I've 

been able to make a bit of deal and I also do 

hope that the reader takes time to understand 

the points to a very appreciable extent.

Who's responsible? 

You will always possess the ability to be able to 

meet up every responsibility you face. 

The reasons why people seem unable to meet up 

with their responsibilities are: 

Ignorance: "My people are destroyed for lack of 

knowledge" Hosea 4:6 

Procrastination: To shift your ability gear to another 

day, another time, another season, without taking 

a reasonable action 

Lack of action: What good is it, my brothers, if 

someone says he has faith (response) "mine" but 

does not have works (ability) "mine"? Can that faith 

(response help him) "mine" save him? 

The Message- James 2:14 

Fear: "...........Because fear has torment" 1 John 

4:18 

When the responsibility arises, the ability to meet 

that responsibility is also there, if we dare to look

The problem is we are either not knowing, not full 

of the response, doubting or not taking positive 

steps towards meeting that responsibility. 

The ability is always there, always present- always 

in our blindspot- discovering it is up to us, using it 

is left for us, whether we like it or not. 

For example. 

In the book of Genesis, the whole starting point of 

taking responsibility. The Creator, created the farm 

with fruits in it, say for example LEMON, and he 

gave us the farm to till and tender. Now it is let for 

us to pluck that lemon from the farm, and make it 

to a juicy and savour drink called a LEMONADE. 

Dr. Myles Munroe said "God works the vision in, 

man works it out" That's sound perfectly right. 






Wisely applying the ability for utmost gain is 

management according to Dr Myles Munroe 

He said "Management is the efficient and effective use 

of another's resources with the intent of giving 

account of the use of the resources to the one who 

entrusted you with those resources".

personalized to your uniqueness. It is meant for 

you. It is for your endurance, to sharpen you, to 

nurture you and to help others. 

In 1Cor10:13 "No temptation has overtaken you 

that is not common to man. Therefore, develop a 

solution in mind and ahead of time because every 

responsibility comes with a two different titles, "I 

can handle this at this time or I can't handle this at 

this time, with shift focus of solution but be exact 

when you will be able to solve that, because it 

won't be magical disappear just by ignoring it. 

And it is not taken you by surprise. 

It is coming to test your ability. But be mindful of 

this that the God is with you and is He is faithful, 

and he will not let you be tempted beyond your 

ABILITY 

Whatever you visualize clearly and often will 

eventually become part of your reality-your

winning response depends primarily on how you 

have used or can train your mind. 

The more clearly you can mentally picture how 

your life will be with response you gave, the easier 

it is for your ability to achieve the result.

As an analogy, I would ask you " How would you 

feel and react if you were suddenly placed in a 

small room with a several-hundred-pound wild cat 

and no way out because it was between you and 

the door? It is BOLDNESS", now in control. I will not 

experience fear or panic, only the calm ability to 

make decisions based on the actions of the wild 

cat, and which is either fight or flight.

It is a fact that for every situation of life, some 

people will demonstrate responsibility while some 

won't. 

It is also indisputable fact that the irresponsible 

ones will always be jealous of and therefore 

criticize the responsible ones. 

Because they know they are irresponsible and 

don't desire to become responsible and that 

desire that every other person become like them; 

they criticize. 

In the book of (Revelation 22:11 NIV) says "Let him 

who does wrong continue to do wrong; let him 

who is vile continue to be vile; let him who does 

right continue to do right; and let him who is holy 

continue to be holy. 

Every one should fall within his rank and stop 

poke-nosing into other people's affairs. But critics 

won't accept! They keep on talking and 

blaspheming- because that's their business!


The responsible individual attracts opposition and 

criticism. He is told "you are too forward....You bite 

more than you can chew....you have holier than 

thou attitude.....you are not blending with the 

trend.......No responsible man will ever be free 

from criticism! In fact when every Dick, Tom and 

Harry approves of your style, then know that you 

are right in the middle of the ocean of status-quo 

and status quo is irresponsibility! Why? Because is 

the way it was done yesterday-unchanged, 

unimproved and unbettered! 

Irresponsible people love status-quo, they dont 

want any further labor or change. Therefore, they 

criticise those who move forward - the 

responsible! 

responsibility is criticism!


The critics never run out of inconsequential things 

to say. Critics are talkers, they don't listen, they 

only talk. And they continue to talk, babbling 

through hours of your valuable time,, rendering 

you totally ineffective during those extended 

periods of regurgitated verbiage. 

Critics are people who use your mind for a trash of 

heap. Life never works for them.

In what areas we show responsibility, when we do 

show responsibility, why we show responsibility 

and how responsible we are, are all our 

promulgations. 

We decide them, no other person does and no 

situations does. Now the reaping of the reward of 

our responsibility nature and causes is determined 

by who? 

A sad fact is that more people, hmm no, most 

people- carry on in life how they want; handling 

situations based on their own selfish interests - 

feeling they are kings over their actions. Well, that 

they are kings over their actions is not disputable 

but that they are kings over the consequences is 

never a possibility! It has never been and it will 

never be!

Responsibility is manifestation. That is s DIGNITY. 

There is a clear line of difference between a man 

with settled home and that with a broken and 

scattered one. The secret? RESPONSIBILITY! 

While the sacrifice of responsibility may be 

somewhat tedious and strenuous, its rewards are 

joyous and glorious. 

God wants earnestly for a time when the children 

of Satan will see the clear line difference between 

themselves and the sons of God. The latter having 

peace and comfort in all areas of life- marriage, 

finances, vocation, spiritual, relationship and 

others. That is when God is really glorified. 

The true test and proof of responsibility level is 

dignity level. How man is viewed in the societywhether 

in high esteem or despised is a proof of 

how responsible he is. 

No responsible man is despised and no 

irresponsible man is truly honoured and 

respected


If we noticed that other people have better lives 

than we do have, we should pause and ask 

ourselves this question: Am I responsible as they 

are? Where is my missing point? What can I do 

differently? What are they doing differently? 

If we are responsible only in little things we get 

only little rewards and if we are responsible in big 

things, we get rewards. But, if we are responsible 

in all things, we get perfect and complete rewards! 

How responsible you are determines how dignified 

you will be.

We are never held responsible for situations that 

are not our duty to handle. Responsibility is a duty. 

We are given responsibility over certain things 

because and only because it is our duty to have 

responsibility over them. 

And that is why blaming other people for our 

irresponsible behavior is most sinful and wrong. 

We are to blame for whatever we do right or 

wrong. 

Therefore the best thing we can do is to view our 

responsibilities as duties. For the man, feeding his 

family is a duty and not a burden. 

He shouldn't blame the economy, government or 

his parents for anything. 

Shifting blames on others and situation have 

become rampant in our world today. And this has 

caused more disasters than the situations from 

which the blames surfaced. 

A blame leaves us worse than it met us-always! We 

fail in one area or another and instead of rising 

and checking the wrong, we look for some other 

individuals to accuse for the wrong we committed. 

This is INSANE!


Even for situations that occured not by our making 

e. g not given a sound education, it is still not 

justifiable if we shift the blame. 

Where we were is the problem, but where we are. 

"It is not what happens to me that matters but 

what happens in me" John Maxwell. 

Responsibility is a duty and we should handle it as 

nothing else but DUTY! If we fail to assume 

responsibility and we go about looking for who to 

blame, we inevitably come back from our journey 

to meet the same issue persisting - and now, much 

more terrible than we left it. 

Blame is procrastination. A duty procrastinated is 

a duty made more difficult to perform

One of the concise ways of defining 

responsibility is defining it as 

management. 

Management is responsibility and 

responsibility is management. 

"There are two categories of people. 

The former handle situations of life 

while the latter are handled by the 

situations of life. The former are 

always turning the tide - while the 

latter move along with the tide of 

life - or better still, are turned by 

the tide of life". 

The former determine their direction 

irrespective of prevailing conditions. The 

latter are the opposite - they allow 

conditions to determine their directions. If 

you don't determine situations, situations 

will determine you. 

The earth was created for man to control 

and to control man. 

Life has neither a bad nor a good gift to give 

you.


You determine the species of gift you get 

from life- because you are the 

determinant: not the determined 

"It is an obligation for you to be at 

the helm of the affairs of your life. 

No one can do that for you because 

they can never do it right". 

Each human is a different species. It can not 

happen of its own accord too. Do it or leave 

it! Do it or leave it! Do it and be on top of it. 

Leave it and it will be right on top of you. 

You have to be in control of the affairs of 

your life!. You've got to be the manager-not 

the managed. Life is always at your disposal. 

It is always at your service. Your life was 

created for you. The earth exists because you 

exist. If it's your possession, then handle it 

well. If you are a good manager, then you are 

responsible

One golden truth and reality is that 

taking wrong approach to any situation 

is not and can not be justified. 

Compromise is failing to measure up to 

standard. A compromise person is a 

mediocre. Each and every time we 

compromise, we inevitably break God's 

law. This is because we will have to 

submit power to some other force aside 

of God's. 





No one who compromised ever reached the 

expected destination. Compromise is dying 

along the way. Compromise is lukewarmness 

and there is only one reward for 

lukewarmness and it is" I will spit you out of 

my mouth! Rev 3:16. 

Compromise is standing in the middle of the 

road.

there you get knocked of with traffic

It is expedient to understand that 

compromise is not responsibility and 

responsibility is not compromise. The 

mere fact that you compromised show 

you're irresponsible! if not, you'd have 

stuck on to the end of the job. 

"Lazy people compromise while 

diligent people take action. Don't

compromise responsibility". 

You are not yet a winner until you've broken 

the tape. You are not a victor until your 

opponent is at your feet - no, under your 

feet! You are not yet who you ought to be 

until you've done what you ought to do! And 

finished it.

process, its consequence is. Also, the 

consequence of responsibility is never 

worked for only -responsibility is 

worked for - its consequence happens 

naturally.

A person who bases his being responsible on 

condition whether or not others are 

responsible; whether or not he will be 

recognized and praised for it etc, is not a 

responsible person. 

A responsible person carries out his 

responsibility without condition. He is not 

concerned whether he gets the praise or not, 

whether others around him are also 

responsible or not. 

His gaze is fixed straight-ahead, pursuing the 

attainment or the fulfilment of his objective 

and not concerned about unnecessary 

issues- issues that hold no importance.


An irresponsible person is always 

conditionalizing his responsibility - 

decides when to be responsible and why 

and how - all based on whether his 

selfish end is met or not

all things, at all times, for all 

reasons, in all ways, at all places 

and in all degrees.".

Responsible people can only be 

criticized - but never convicted! But 

irresponsible people will always hide. 

They hide through nooks, corners and 

crannies to avoid ridicule and shame. 

Irresponsible people have something 

under coverer. They are imperfect. 

It is a indisputable fact that some people 

maneuver their ways to the top through 

dubious means. They perform some 

manipulations here and there, and find 

themselves at the top. 

It makes no difference how private that 

immoral action posed to be-it is still a 

feigning.

Fame gotten through an infamous act will 

always end in defamation. 

Promiscuity, financial misappropriation, 

position-theft and the likes can never be 

termed responsible


Irresponsibility is imperfection. 

Responsibility is perfection - every area 

is checked properly! 

Responsible people are perfect people. 

Perfect people are plain people - they 

got no skeleton in the cupboard. They 

are transparent. And transparent people 

are tranquil people because they have 

transcended all odds, ills and wrongs.

It is obvious that certain people do not 

have a history of being responsible afore 

times. Some might lived their whole lives 

indulging in irresponsible act - revelers, 

politician charlatans, fraudulent people, 

marital unfaithfuls. 

The fact remains that is not only the 

responsible person one who has always 

been responsible but also the one who 

has changed from being irresponsible t 

being responsible. 

What you were is not as consequential 

and important as what you are. What 

you did holds not much not as much on 

you as what you do. 

"There is always a chance for 

change and there is always an 

opportunity for responsibility" 

The one who changed from irresponsibility is 

better than the one who changed from 

responsibility to being irresponsible.


Your present is a better way to describe

There is always a medium for freedom -

For every time we are responsibly 

disposing our duties in all areas of life - 

marital, vocational, political and religious 

we are invariably offering service to 

some person or persons. 

"A responsible person is a servant! 

A servant to God and a servant to 

humanity" 

The political leader who faithfully discharge 

his office is offering service to his followers 

and therefore wins favor - with God and 

Man. 

The husband or wife effectively playing his 

/her role in the home - becomes an 

instrument of peace and harmony in the 

home and consequently, the society. 

Responsible people see their duties as 

service and therefore are concerned about 

how well they discharged their duties in 

order to be a blessing to one person or the 

other.


Irresponsible people are self-centered in 

carrying out their duties and therefore 

seek for the gratification of themselves 

alone. 

And the end result? Others lose out! And 

not only others, they also lose in the long 

run. 

"Most people carry out their duties 

with a selfish mentality and 

therefore go about stepping on 

everybody's toes, tumbling on 

everybody just for the sake of 

achieving their own selfish ends" 

If we can only try to love other people like 

ourselves, then we will be able to feel the 

way they feel and therefore, hurting them 

will never be an option. 

Service is feeling the way others feel and 

hence doing things in such as a way that 

others will benefit and not lose. 

A responsible person is a servant! A servant

always a temptation every now and then, 

in one area or another to show 

irresponsibility. And that is why every 

human is fighter - involved in a warfare! 

This is so because responsibility involves 

warfare, and warfare involves 

preparation, preparation involves 

planning and planning involves action. 

"Choices should not be based on 

immediate self gratification but on 

longer lasting benefit" 

It is much easier to rest comfortably and 

relax on the couch and enjoy some nice TV 

programmes than it is to go out working 

under heat and stress. It is seemingly 

enticing for an individual to indulge in 

promiscuity without restraint than it is to be 

abide with and tolerate only one married 

spouse - especially if the spouse is not so 

perfect. 

It is very attracting to accept or give bribe in 

order to edge one's way through to achieve a 

particular objective.


But fascinating as these acts of 

irresponsibility are, the ends are better 

not told because they are so destructive. 




If the end of an action will not be predictably 

favorable, then is it not the right choice to 

make - no matter how tempting or attractive 

is poses to be! 

On the other hand if the "end" is predictably 

favourable, then is it the right choice to 

make, no matter how "bitter" it may pose to

Diligent people are beneficial. Non diligent 

men are parasitic. Always wanting to reap 

and never willing to sow. Pure inhumane 

indulgence. This is irresponsibility. Nondiligent 

people are ills and thorns in the 

society. They are absolutely detrimental to a 

well organised, purposeful, meaningful, 

efficient and effective society.

Hard work is the right thing, and if you don't 

do it, you are without doubt ineffective. 

What you don't do right will always be what

mixed with efficiency is the best way to 

describe diligence. And diligence is without

Situations are like parasites- they give birth 

to young ones and multiply if not dealt with 

properly. 

If don't get rid of a present situations and 

you try to dodge away from it, you will only

And what will happen is that the original 

situation will remain unsolved and more 

would have surfaced. Responsibility can 

never be evaded. The more you run away 

from it, the more it multiplies.

We need to understand how to relate with

Yet in our relating with other men, we should 

not break God's law in order to satisfy them. 

We shouldn't sell our birthright for a morsel 

of meal - if we do, how can we claim our 

right afterwards. 

We should maintain caution. If we kill who 

should be of assistance to us tomorrow, we 

may be mandated to go raise that dead 

tomorrow- and that's impossible! Yet, we 

should not go compromising God's standard 

in order to incur favor from any source. 

What do we gain from getting goods and 

losing God. 

People are interdependent mortals. Our 

strenghts are feeble and therefore are 

inadequate to meet all the demands of life. 

We need others every now and then for 

support and assistance. 

Treat people as such- helpers- and you'll 

have someone to rely on later. But first let 

someone rely on you today.

taking wrong approach to any situation 

is not and can not be justified. 

Compromise is failing to measure up to 

standard. A compromise person is a 

mediocre. Each and every time we 

compromise, we inevitably break God's 

law. This is because we will have to 

submit power to some other force aside 

of God's. 





No one who compromised ever reached the 

expected destination. Compromise is dying 

along the way. Compromise is lukewarmness

We should never stop reminding ourselves

supposed to please and benefit us alone. 

God is not only concerned about our 

discharging our duties, He is concerned - 

and really concerned - about how we 

discharge them whether purely or not. 

Purity is eminence and beauty. There is 

nothing as beautiful as purity. It is honesty, 

blamelessness and trust worthiness. It is 

honest, blamelessness and trust worthiness. 

It is a virtue and a quality. Purity is respect. 

Respect is earned glory.

criticized - but never convicted! But 

irresponsible people will always hide. 

They hide through nooks, corners and 

crannies to avoid ridicule and shame.

It is a indisputable fact that some people 

maneuver their ways to the top through 

dubious means. They perform some 

manipulations here and there, and find 

themselves at the top. 

It makes no difference how private that 

immoral action posed to be-it is still a 

feigning.

Fame gotten through an infamous act will 

always end in defamation. 

Promiscuity, financial misappropriation, 

position-theft and the likes can never be 

termed responsible

Perfect people are plain people - they 

got no skeleton in the cupboard. They 

are transparent. And transparent people 

are tranquil people because they have

It is obvious that certain people do not 

have a history of being responsible afore 

times. Some might lived their whole lives 

indulging in irresponsible act - revelers, 

politician charlatans, fraudulent people, 

marital unfaithfuls. 

The fact remains that is not only the 

responsible person one who has always 

been responsible but also the one who 

has changed from being irresponsible t 

being responsible. 

What you were is not as consequential 

and important as what you are. What 

you did holds not much not as much on 

you as what you do. 




The one who changed from irresponsibility is 

better than the one who changed from 

responsibility to being irresponsible.


Your present is a better way to describe 

you than your past. 




There is always a medium for freedom - 

freedom from irresponsible acts. 

The one who repents from his bad ways is 

also a very responsible person because it 

takes a sense of responsibility to desist from 

responsibility.

For every time we are responsibly 

disposing our duties in all areas of life - 

marital, vocational, political and religious 

we are invariably offering service to 

some person or persons. 

"A responsible person is a servant!

The political leader who faithfully discharge 

his office is offering service to his followers 

and therefore wins favor - with God and 

Man. 

The husband or wife effectively playing his 

/her role in the home - becomes an 

instrument of peace and harmony in the 

home and consequently, the society. 

Responsible people see their duties as 

service and therefore are concerned about 

how well they discharged their duties in 

order to be a blessing to one person or the 

other.


Irresponsible people are self-centered in 

carrying out their duties and therefore 

seek for the gratification of themselves 

alone. 

And the end result? Others lose out! And 

not only others, they also lose in the long 

run. 

"Most people carry out their duties 

with a selfish mentality and 

therefore go about stepping on 

everybody's toes, tumbling on 

everybody just for the sake of 

achieving their own selfish ends" 

If we can only try to love other people like 

ourselves, then we will be able to feel the 

way they feel and therefore, hurting them 

will never be an option. 

Service is feeling the way others feel and 

hence doing things in such as a way that 

others will benefit and not lose. 

A responsible person is a servant! A servant 

to God and a servant to humanity!

from your actions. Then you have the 

answer.

Responsibility occurs to everybody 

everywhere. Every existing human must 

come into contact with responsibility 

and that not once in a while but every 

time and in every situation they face.

Men of every age, color, race, vocation and 

religion have to experience situations that 

demand responsibility. We are responsible 

for all we think, say or do. Not wanting the 

responsibility attached to a particular 

situation is not wanting the benefits accrued 

to it. 

We are not blessed because we desire 

blessing but rather because we deserve it. 

The one who detests the responsibility of 

marriage should not marry.


Not deciding the hard work attached to 

a job is not wanting the job at all.

An employee went to his boss and said, Hey, 

sir, I don't like the labor and stress this job 

offers" 

The employer simply replied "well boy, quit 

the job and you've done away with the labor". 

Nothing goes for nothing.

Well, I guess turning the lemon into 

lemonade requires some effort. So does 

getting married, keeping a job, pastoring a 

church, governing a people and name it.. 

But pathetic and bitter fact, that some 

animals are more responsible than some 

people. They care for their offsprings more 

than some parents do.

people, e.g ants

To most of the issues of life, there is 

always a temptation every now and then, 

in one area or another to show 

irresponsibility. And that is why every 

human is fighter - involved in a warfare! 

This is so because responsibility involves 

warfare, and warfare involves 

preparation, preparation involves 

planning and planning involves action. 




It is much easier to rest comfortably and 

relax on the couch and enjoy some nice TV 

programmes than it is to go out working 

under heat and stress. It is seemingly 

enticing for an individual to indulge in 

promiscuity without restraint than it is to be 

abide with and tolerate only one married 

spouse - especially if the spouse is not so 

perfect. 

It is very attracting to accept or give bribe in 

order to edge one's way through to achieve a 

particular objective.


But fascinating as these acts of 

irresponsibility are, the ends are better 

not told because they are so destructive. 




If the end of an action will not be predictably 

favorable, then is it not the right choice to 

make - no matter how tempting or attractive 

is poses to be! 

On the other hand if the "end" is predictably 

favourable, then is it the right choice to 

make, no matter how "bitter" it may pose to 

be
