not the discernment <strong>and</strong> discrimination that would<br />

enable him <strong>to</strong> employ wise methods in his work; if<br />

he cannot govern those in his charge with firmness,<br />

yet pleasantly <strong>and</strong> kindly, how can he be successful<br />

in his teaching? The teacher who is not under the<br />

control of God needs <strong>to</strong> heed the invitation, “Take<br />

My yoke upon you, <strong>and</strong> learn of Me; for I am meek<br />

<strong>and</strong> lowly in heart: <strong>and</strong> ye shall find rest un<strong>to</strong> your<br />

souls. For My yoke is easy, <strong>and</strong> My burden is<br />

light.” (Matthew 11:29, 30)<br />

Every teacher should learn daily of Jesus,<br />

wearing His yoke of restraint, sitting in His school<br />

as a student, obeying the rules of Christian<br />

principle. The teacher who is not under the<br />

guidance of the Master Teacher will not be able <strong>to</strong><br />

meet successfully the different developments that<br />

arise as the result of the natural perversity of<br />

childhood <strong>and</strong> youth.<br />

Let the teacher bring peace <strong>and</strong> love <strong>and</strong><br />

cheerfulness in<strong>to</strong> his work. Let him not allow<br />

himself <strong>to</strong> become angry or provoked. The Lord is<br />

looking upon him with intense interest, <strong>to</strong> see if he<br />
