Helping Bring Food to Families<br />

The Library hosted and assisted the with the Dr. Martin Luther King,<br />

Jr. Food Drive, partnering with the City of Elgin Human Relations<br />

Commission. In just 5 hours more than 4,000 pounds of food and $2000<br />

were collected for area food pantries.<br />

Keeping Library Customers Informed<br />

We created a COVID response blog-style page to keep the<br />

community updated on changes to library services as they occurred.<br />

Supporting Families<br />

In the Library-created video Coping with Childhood Anxiety/<br />

Stress: Building Resiliency for Parents, Bernadette May, the<br />

Executive Director of Family Services Association, and Library staff<br />

discussed ways for parents of children and teens to recognize anxiety<br />

and stress in a world that can be scary and uncertain. The group offered<br />
