9AM – SURF'S UP
After breakfast, it’s time to hit the popular west
coast and hone your surfing skills with the Guernsey
Surf School. Or for those wanting to explore the
inlets along the coast and beaches, why not try
kayaking or hiring a stand-up paddle board, or
even try coasteering with Outdoor Guernsey?
GUERNSEY'S MILITARY
HISTORY IS LARGE WITH
COASTAL FORTIFICATIONS
DOTTED ALONG THE
SOUTHERN CLIFFS
NOON – CULTURAL AFTERNOON
The afternoon can be spent visiting one of
Guernsey’s most iconic landmarks – the Little Chapel.
Nestled in a valley in the parish of St Andrew’s, the
chapel built in 1904 is renowned around the world
and its striking décor and charm is always a real talking
point. From here you will be able to take a leisurely
stroll through the green lanes and Ruettes Tranquilles,
before resting your feet at Hotel Fleur du Jardin in
front of a roaring open fire together with a large glass
of red.
3PM – HISTORY LESSON
Guernsey’s military history is large with coastal
fortifications dotted along the southern cliffs, but
enthusiasts should make the German Occupation
Museum a priority stop. Newspaper cuttings and
striking images of Nazi-occupied Guernsey sit
alongside uniforms and unexploded bombs,
providing a fascinating insight into one of the
island’s darkest periods.
7PM – TASTING LOCAL
Tucked inside the luxury four-star Fermain Valley
Hotel, Ocean Bar & Grill prides itself on preparing food
with passion and care using locally and sustainably
sourced produce. Its terrace offers east coast views
of the neighbouring islands, so take it all in while
you enjoy some delicious cocktails and food.
9PM – GRAND FINALE
Why not finish your short-stay with a bang and head
to St James Concert & Assembly Hall? With a central
location in the heart of St Peter Port, the former
church provides Guernsey with a unique and versatile
venue where you find a wide variety of events each
month such as concerts, plays and musicals.
